22/2/2012 07:59 | great. Cograts to all. Well done. No harm in waiting to see if this offer flushes out any others. The price is underpinned now at 195p for the next couple of weeks at least, so not going anywhere. I doubt it will breach that amount, but you never know. all the best guys. | utrecht_00
22/2/2012 07:59 | CHAR on a charge over the last week or so. It looks interesting but since last week there is an obvious change in sentiment towards the smaller O & G sector. Consolidation and takeovers are now de rigeur as majors tie up quality assets at cheap prices because they can see oil only going one way in the future which would push up valuations Buy cheap today or risk paying higher prices in the future..that mentality is driving consolidation | mirabeau
22/2/2012 07:58 | pretty happy with this - well done to all who have been holding last few months | gardenboy
22/2/2012 07:58 | These Cove directors have played a blinder . Without formally commiting they have set an opening bid of £195p , let the auction begin ! | talkman2
22/2/2012 07:57 | morning all! havenĀ“t posted on here for a while but all I can say this morning is "bloody good job"! amazing when you consider that Lapp Platts was a real penny stock...... : ) | thecynical1
22/2/2012 07:54 | itsonlyme2 - the offer is a cash offer of 195p per cov share, u do not get any cash in the bank of cov's. read the rns today - it is only a proposed offer by shell at this stage pending mozambique approval - sale process still open to other bidders... | jac1104
22/2/2012 07:51 | Cove have said they would be minded to recommend an offer at 195p if an offer from Shell is forthcoming. Shell need to get the nod from the Mozambique government for approval. The sale process is still ongoing and other parties can still enter the fray. The 195p is not a done deal and I would be very surprised if no other parties put in a counter offer. | horndean eagle
22/2/2012 07:51 | Pro S2009 - spot on ;> it is a good price and i reckon shell were after the pre emption rights - great partner and do not forsee any problems with mozambique govt approval- now look forward to beh to get some results in ! (see u have an interest there?) horndean eagle - i rather it is not the indians - had ghastly experience with them in Imperial energy a few years ago, even though the deal did go thru in the end - it was like dragging a reluctant bride to the altar! - the indians tend to dither a lot, ummmhing and aahing and generally horrid at deal making , trying to squeeze every single penny.... now the chinese.... brill start to the day, well done boys;O | jac1104
22/2/2012 07:47 | What happens to any money COV have in the bank do shell get it or is that given to COV shareholders???? Also can Shells offer be out bidded by another company or have the BOD' of COV already accepted Shells offer?????? | itsonlyme2
22/2/2012 07:43 | Now, where do I put my profits? May have Aminex to add to this shortly. If assets are discovered in the coming two weeks off the South coast of Ireland we'll have a second North Sea on our hands. I have a few bob invested hoping for the area's second major field and first oil play. Very much the target for cash rich Cove and Aex investors I would have thought!!! | caveat_emptor
22/2/2012 07:39 | Not a holder, but well done all. | aaaaar
22/2/2012 07:38 | Nice one well done chaps | mr_dross
22/2/2012 07:36 | I think we go above 195p today. Auction process still ongoing. Fair chance of other parties still entering the fray. Only the directors have given irrevocables for an offer at 195p. We have our starter today, who fancies an Indian or a Chinese to provide the main course? | horndean eagle
22/2/2012 07:33 | Spot on Mirabeau. Hard one to call. | 85gary
22/2/2012 07:30 | The question to be asked is do you take what the market is offering today in cash or do you wait for a better offer? Cash now or wait for an improved offer that may not materialise? It's a tough one | mirabeau
22/2/2012 07:27 | You either sell now at probably 185 to 190p to the MM's Or you wait for the offer to be approved and then the transaction date to be announced then finally you get the full 195p much later down the line. Your stockbroker will do it all for you automatically in the nominee account. If you do not want to wait you sell for a little less today or tomorrow or whenever you want. 22/2/2012 07:26 | Well done all ! Nice price. Now if only bloody AEX can find some onshore commercial gas in the Ruvuma basin, AEX shareholders might finally smile as well (although do not bank on it). | pro_s2009

22/2/2012 07:23 | Well done all here also. Been good to me. One less quality company on AIM. | zengas
22/2/2012 07:22 | Dolmen Stockbrokers' analyst Brian Gallagher has been bang on with his coverage of Cove - "expect a sale near to our target price of 200p". | exmooroil
22/2/2012 07:21 | Well done all holders. | jamesiebabie |
