iceagefarmer,maybe the rise was limited due to expectations of a big fund raising here soon. CEG,as a group, loses $175k-$200k a month from its Trinidad operations (see last results)and Uruguay drilling is likely to be years away imo. The next news is likely to be bad imo,fund raising or results.

CEG is a serial loss maker of around $175k-$200k a month (see results) and the question holders should have is 'how can they survive without raising cash?' The answer is they cannot,even with a JV for Uruguay (which I doubt they will get since one hasn't arrived in nearly a year of looking for one),CEG will have to raise cash via dilution just to pay its bills/salaries/etc. Imo it is not 'if' dilution comes but 'when' will it come? My guess is very soon.

CEG have $12.3 and a free carry only needing to pay 25% of drill costs.

Whereas Chevron will have to spend a total of $110 million for thier 60% to the same point of progress on first drill.

$12.5M to CEG
Upto $37.5M On 3D before CEG need to pay
Upto $60m Drilling Covering 75% of the costs

I think it shows how keen they are to get thier hand on OFF 1 with OFF 3 still to come. This is much cheaper at 17p today, than it was at 12p yesterday. That big mark up was fully justified but not quite bought into yet today ... Think this will rerate quite a bit ..OFF3 only round the corner
