2 x borehole pumps at ££££££££

Now sludge pumps have suddenly appeared ?

No prior mention of said pumps.

An oversight ….

Don’t get me wrong , I’d like this British venture to succeed as it’s what we need.
However we just tie ourselves up in knots with environmental regulations / health safety etc.

Surround the whole site with a high perimeter fence .
Sentinels everywhere .
Declare the zone inside completely deregulated ,a lawless zone .
What happens in the Cusn mine stays in the Cusn mine .
Throw a few migrants in and get them working for the UK.
( think what you could do with all those miners Ron lad ….)

China does it with the Uyghurs.

Let’s just call it a re education centre ….

So they have a stash of sludge pumps ready to go as and when ?
With the viscosity of the sludge much higher than water , are you saying they have a sludge pump in addition to the borehole pumps ??
An additional output from the base ?

Otherwise the borehole pumps would be the only option , and they would be looking to dilute / thin out the sludge before utilising the borehole pumps to pump it - this possibly (highly likely ) damaging the borehole pumps .

I don’t recall any mention of sludge pumps before …
What size are they ( kw rating ) ?
How much do they / will they cost ?

The sludge must come out without using the borehole pumps .

Couldn’t make Friday , but will do the next meet up .

Enjoyed my latest visit, to the Cricket club to view the latest developments, I did ask the question regarding the sludge at the lowest level of the mine and was assured that it won’t be a problem as they have sludge pumps that will deal with it all. The dewatering is progressing nicely.

That and the strict health and safety rules that make any manual work in that mine cost an absolute fortune .

Job Alert! Join our team as Winder Driver at South Crofty

One of the main sheeve wheels on the iconic headframe is due to be operational in the first half of 2024 and will be turning once again, hoisting the main conveyance required to access the workings with personnel and materials. Two new single drum winding engines have been purchased to wind from this shaft, both in the latter stages of commissioning.

Additional operators are required for these winders, as we prepare to commence 24/7 operations at the mine. There will be two winder drivers on each crew to provide the level of cover needed for this safety critical role. Winder drivers will also be required to double up as Shaft Banksmen during normal operations.

Do you have what it takes? No prior experience is necessary, although experience in operating safety critical equipment in a solitary setting would be desirable. The successful candidate will need to have a level of fitness that enables them to perform their specified activities efficiently, an aptitude for working in challenging conditions and a willingness to conform to strict health and safety procedures throughout.
