Cornish Metals set to play a major part in UK growth following £28m government investment
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, recognised the crucial role of Cornish Metal’s South Crofty tin mine in accelerating the nation’s transition to net zero and driving economic development in a speech delivered on Wednesday.
The speech followed news that the UK National Wealth Fund (NWF) has invested £28m in Cornish Metals as part of a wider £56m fundraise to bring the South Crofty tin mine back into production.
Rachel Reeves said in a speech on Wednesday that the mine will provide “the raw materials to be used in solar panels, wind turbines and electric vehicles, supporting growth and jobs in the South West of England....” |
ArglyeRich - haha! |
Rachel Reeves just mentioned us live on TV! |
As long as they don't round up a bunch of accountants and put em down the shaft should be alright! Imho! |
HM Treasury know all about mining tin in the most expensive way possible and bleeding tax payers. |
Wow having HM treasury on board can't be a bad thing! Nice move ! |
I'm afraid understanding MAR regulation and how such fundings are achieved is far beyond their comprehension...most things are to be frank. There is just one idiot that likes to prove their ignorance through multiple id's..all rather sad. Thanks for the update on dewatering...all in line as they have said in previous updates. The funding a major step forward today in getting South Crofty up and running and a major step towards to a politically stable source of tin for the west. |
What is dodgy about being wall crossed as per MAR regulations as a professional investor and meeting with the team in the offices of the broker as we do multiple times a week? As someone who works in this industry as a job, with buy and sell side experience, I can assure you that fair process was indeed followed. Additionally, there is a large retail element to this raise, such that smaller holders are able to take part on the same terms. |
Why has there been NO update at all to investors via RNS? (The standard, secure, audited channel for communication to investors) and via dodgy meetups with the team instead?
Did you meet a team member in the pasty shop? Did he drop 20p on the floor and give you a wink?

We actually met with the team as part of this process and our participation in the placing. The dewatering is being undertaken concurrently with shaft refurbishment - rather than one followed by the other. Therefore the timeline remains as per scheduled. Indeed in the raise presentation CUSN states complete dewatering of South Crofty and complete refurbishment of NCK as upcoming catalysts. So after having multiple meetings with management I'm fairly relaxed. |
The dewatering was supposed to be finished by April bd11. It’s just simply not going to happen . That’s guaranteed to become factual on April 1st. Some could say that investors have been misled. Those saying that could also say “ what else are they not telling us “ |
Lots of rain recently . Has anyone an update on the 7B saga ?
There was another rumour that up to 25% of the dewatering was finding its way back into the mine ?? Has this been fixed yet if it was true , and what was that all about ?? |
Supposed to be fully dewatered by April acording to their original timeframe. No updates? Oh dear! |
No update? |
If there is smoke, there is fire. |
Oh milly, I detect you are trying to wind Ron up . He could be one of us. The more the merrier I say . I’d love to dress up with him , discuss investments etc . |
Clickety clack, back down to 0.2p (1/5th of a penny)
I don't even care that there is no shaft refurbishment update anymore, investors need to know the location of the christmas tree? Is it higher Ron? |
No one claiming to be short is there?? |
