I have emailed the company to try and get an understanding of the peak rate , was this peak rate the initial flow as we know there was sharp decline in production rates

I've also asked about testing and is it the plan to fully test now or just to confirm flow then to develop the FDP as further drilling has been mentioned

Tobias 14 is an offset drill from an adjacent discovery that peaked at c 12500BOPD so it is anticipated the geology will be analogous.

The well tests are to be of intervals in the reservoir sections of the two drilled vertical wells which may or may not have intersected fractures. The test results are therefore likely to be very variable as high oil flow rate in oolitic limestone depends on fracture flow.

We have been told Sonangol are looking at deviated and horizontal wells for production so the well tests do not indicate what actual production flow rates would be, but rather that there is flow.

The big issue with producing from the fractures, as Petrofina found out, is that the wells produce at high rate initially and then water out, as the fractures provide a low resistance flow path for formation water from beneath the reservoir. The oil in the reservoir rock remains largely in situ. Once water is in the fractures it can not be isolated, leading to well abandonment.
