I still keep an eye on COO. It is a great pity the forecasts posted in the thread header did not materialise. The dilution announced is disappointing.

If anyone wants me to change the header content, please let me know; though I am unable to change the (now-misleading) thread header. Perhaps a new thread would be appropriate, if anyone wants to open one?

I re-entered Character Group today. Interestingly, both CCT and COO at today's prices trade on very similar forward P/Es. However, in my view, CCT wins hands down as a strongly profitable company.

Good luck to friends who keep the faith in COO.

Interesting responses both - TX

For AIM investments I usually assume that PIs will be last to benefit but if the co does well (the greater risk and hopefully greater reward balance) I hope that some of the benefit will filter down to PIs after BoDs and instituts have taken their cuts.

Perhaps 7% p/a will look cheap in the years ahead at least it's not outrageously high, fixed and therefore certain for the Co's budgeting purposes

Greetings maytrees and welcome back. Long time no hear.
Another 8.3 million shares to be issued if the notes are fully converted, to add to the 55 million already out there. Dilution of around 8%. The deal also adds around £40k to the annual interest bill.
Given the good news that streams out from the company, I would hope that this signals a positive development and we will soon be rewarded for our patience.
We are due news before the end of the month and I hope that it will be the good news that convinced Edge to stump up half a million.

Greetings back andgood luck with your investment. I am not sure that I agree with your logic: just as I would not necessarily buy into a company whose share price has fallen below its rights issue price, I would not conclude here that 5.75p is cheap just because the conversion price is 6.75p. This all the more true seeing as Edge are picking up 7% a year on their loan - not a bad rate given the current level of interest rates.

Greetings Orange1 - you have a point but still the fact that the lenders' share price is at a premium to mkt share price attracted me back in just now at what seems (so dyor) to be a good offer share price of 5.7p.

As predicted, the company has had to raise money again, this time through the issue of a convertible loan note (7% and a conversion price of 6.75p). This would explain why the price has been hanging around current levels for a while. With this out of the way, the company can now concentrate on the task at hand: finally gaining traction and making some serious profit.

All going in the right direction and once we get some numbers confirmed and the PR machinery starts to support the "Poppy Cat" craze, 2012 will be a defining year for COO IMHO. The share price will then take care of itself. Trickle buy and hold for the rest of the year while it's still under the radar for me.

COOLABI SECURES NEW DEALS FOR BAGPUSS

Smallfilms' classic brand continues to be a hit at retail

Leading entertainment producer and rights management company Coolabi has secured a raft of new licensing deals for Bagpuss, one of the classic brands it represents on behalf of Smallfilms and Peter Firmin. These new deals highlight the ongoing popularity of the much-loved family favourite.

Pigment Productions has signed to produce a range of Bagpuss photographic greetings cards for a late Autumn 2011 launch, following the success of their range of cards last year for another classic Smallfilms and Peter Firmin property, Clangers.

Powerplay Textiles will be launching a range of adult nightwear, underwear and socks in Autumn 2011, with initial ranges being developed exclusively for Express Gift, while Shreds has recently signed to produce a range of children's aprons and bags to be sold exclusively through Past Times stores.

Impressive sales of the Bagpuss microwaveable plush were reported last Christmas which has led Intelex to develop a more extensive range of Bagpuss products. New microwaveable slippers, slipper boots and neck warmers will be available from September 2011.

Finally, Coolabi has secured an exciting extension of the current illustrated greetings card deal with Museums & Galleries Marketing (MGML). With Bagpuss proving to be one of the most popular designs within its Spring 2011 Illustrators Range launch, the company has now extended its contract to include new birthday designs for mid-year release. Bagpuss Christmas cards will also be available for Christmas 2011. The ranges feature new designs by Dan Postgate, the son on Oliver Postgate, one of Bagpuss' original creators.

Anna Hewitt, Coolabi's Head of Licensing, says: "Following the significant increase in demand at retail last year, Bagpuss continues to demonstrate its strength as a key property both with consumers and licensees. We are very excited to work with our new and existing partners to launch these new ranges throughout 2011 as we further expand the brand."

To be honest ,i done myself a favour ,COOLABI is not moving anywhere and shareprice will only do what it has been doing for last few years NO REAL GAINS FOR SHAREHOLDERS and price reaction to any positive news IF ANY safely guarded for someone to keep topping up at these very low levels .
Top i rephrase when they top up as there has not been any decent punt here for a few years now .
Lost cause i feel and probably will only slip away to a shell soon.

To be fair it wasn't that easy to predict. With iloveit said to be attending who knows what the statement might have said: for example, "the AGM had to be adjourned to allow for the removal of a manic-depressive muppet" is just one of the possibilities.

>iloveit How did your discussions about the share price go?

COOLABI APPOINTS THE JOESTER LORIA GROUP AS NORTH AMERICAN LICENSING AGENT FOR POPPY CAT
Leading entertainment producer and rights management company Coolabi has appointed The Joester Loria Group, a leading full-service licensing and marketing agency, as the exclusive licensing agent for Poppy Cat for North America.

The Joester Loria Group provides innovative and strategic brand building services and will be launching an integrated licensing and merchandising programme for Poppy Cat and her colourful cast of friends, aiming at an audience of 3-5 year olds, with products inspiring adventure and fantasy play. Key licensing categories planned for North America include toys, games, and apparel.

This autumn, Poppy Cat, the lovable children's preschool character from the book series created by Lara Jones which has sold in excess of 2.5 million copies worldwide, will come to life in an animated TV series airing in the US on Sprout and in Canada on TVO, SCN and Knowledge Network.

Sprout is the first 24-hour preschool destination available on TV in over 50 million American households and its VOD offering is the #1 on demand service for younger children with over one billion views.

The show has just made its international debut on Nick Jr in the UK, and will be quickly followed by a global roll out across Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Far East.

Poppy Cat's UK and international licensing programmes are also forging ahead. Golden Bear has recently been announced as master toy partner. Additional categories signed include TV tie-in publishing, magazines, sleepwear and underwear, and games and puzzles.

Anna Hewitt, Head of Licensing at Coolabi, says: "The Joester Loria Group has an incredible track record in creating innovative licensing programs for many significant brands in the North American market and we have every confidence that they will secure some fantastic partners for Poppy Cat."

Debra Joester, President & CEO of The Joester Loria Group adds "The delightful characters and graphic style of the Poppy Cat brand lends itself to multi-category merchandise opportunities and engaging play patterns. We look forward to working with Coolabi and Sprout to market Poppy Cat and bring these fanciful characters from the screen to a full assortment of products designed to encourage imaginative role play."
