26/6/2012 20:14 | Huntie, things were going nicely, an investment company called Cevian had bought a biggish stake in Cookson and are know as long term investors who try to find ways of increasing the Shareholder value. To the point where their representative was appointed to the board of Cookson and the board agreed to look at splitting the company up. The last couple of months it's all gone quiet. Today they issued 2.1 million new shares for the executive share scheme, I don't know if this dilution of the Cook shares is why the drop today? See below RNS Number : 1979G Cookson Group PLC 26 June 2012 26 June 2012 Cookson Group plc - Additional Listing Application has been made to The UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for block listings totalling 2,100,000 Ordinary Shares of GBP1 each under the Cookson Group Executive Share Option Schemes and Long-Term Incentive Plan, to trade on the London Stock Exchange and to be admitted to the Official List upon issuance. The shares shall rank pari passu with the existing issued shares of the Company. Cookson Group plc 165 Fleet Street London EC4A 2AE | robertfaulkner
26/6/2012 16:05 | New to this board and this company - so why the price drop over the past couple of months? | huntie2
22/6/2012 17:34 | I'm so stupid, I've just remembered I sold my Cook shares before 6th April(to bank my CGT for the tax year) and re-purchased them 30 days later and missed the Div. No wonder I didn't get the div in my broking account. | robertfaulkner
21/6/2012 17:28 | Thanks Peter, I've checked again my Selftrade account and no credit nor an answer to my message asking if there was a problem.(thurs 17:20) I'll give Selftrade until Mon and give them a ring. I've already bought shares to the value of the div, and my cash account is now below what I need for a limit buy I've got open. | robertfaulkner
21/6/2012 13:57 | I got mine from Barclays on 12 June! | peter27
21/6/2012 12:44 | I still haven't got my Cook dividend in my account yet, I emailed Selftrade(my online broker) on Monday and have got nothing back yet from them. Anyone got their dividend in their account? | robertfaulkner
13/6/2012 09:00 | Down again after 2 directors(see RNSs) took their dividend in re-invested shares, imagine if they hadn't Bad because the market is up today | robertfaulkner
12/6/2012 17:17 | Closed off it's worst and well above 600p, lets hope it stay that way. 755p on the 19th April seems a long way away. | robertfaulkner
07/6/2012 19:15 | so far this week CKSN looking v good, from a close below 600p on Fri to a close today of 646p Only 2 working days so far, could we expect a further rise tomorrow as China has lowered it's interest rates (or it that the reason for the rise today) | robertfaulkner
05/6/2012 23:07 | FTSE futures up 13 points, so not much happening at 5260, (it closed Fri at 5260, so no change) | robertfaulkner
01/6/2012 19:54 | Dangerous moves in the offing as the S&P500 now tests its 200 day Simple Moving Average and copper see-saws its way down to the lows seen during mid-2011 accompanied by crude oil. If the S&P500 does indeed make a decisive break down through that key moving average then a revisit of its own pre-Christmas lows could effectively whack the FTSE100 down to around 4800. "Positive" indicators of a possible equity market rally are the technically oversold state of the S&P500 and the 60+ year lows for treasury, gilt and bund yields all along their yield curves. Given that the London Stock Exchange is closed on Monday and Tuesday, this may be the perfect long weekend for some major co-ordinated worldwide initiative to be announced. | bobsidian
01/6/2012 13:43 | Sorry to hear that bob, hopefully markets will pick up soon. I am off out a nice cycle get me away from looking at shares going down. take care | wipo1
01/6/2012 10:01 | Looks like this is going sub £6, why did I buy back at 689p? (after selling for CGT purposes at 730p, I thought I was so clever at the time) | robertfaulkner
25/5/2012 16:33 | Thaks Wipo1, why do they make the announcement so complicated ?(maybe it's not complicated to those in the know) | robertfaulkner
25/5/2012 14:27 | Bob standard life have sold around 1.2% of their holdings, last rns they had 27,418,570 9.919% | wipo1
25/5/2012 08:35 | 3. Full name of person(s) subject to the notification obligation: Standard Life Investments Limited 4. Full name of shareholder(s) (if different from 3.): Vidacos Nominees Limited 5. Date of the transaction (and date on which the threshold is crossed or reached if different): 22 May 2012 6. Date on which issuer notified: 23rd May 2012 7. Threshold(s) that is/are crossed or reached: 9% Can anyone explain the RNS from Thurs 24th. Vidacos (Standard Life) owned 9% of Cookson there is all sorts of figures about voting rights and at the end they own just under 9% of Cookson?????? | robertfaulkner
25/5/2012 08:27 | All quiet on the Cevian splitting up Cookson front. Anyone got any info/thoughts? | robertfaulkner
18/5/2012 15:01 | Thanks Peter, what do you think of Cevian having someone on the board and their policy of splitting Cksn into two? | robertfaulkner
17/5/2012 18:07 | Most of the voting will have been proxy by post. | peter27
17/5/2012 17:00 | Peter, did I get that right, only 50 or so shareholders at the AGM? They must have been the big shareholders judging by the huge number of shares voted. Did you see we had a high today of 708p at 8:20 and even a close of 680p + 35.5p which is + 5.5% is pretty good considering the bad Euro sentiment | robertfaulkner
17/5/2012 15:14 | I've just checked the voting see that 31% voted against the remuneration report but that seems to becoming the norm so I suspect it won't be long before companies start ignoring it. | peter27
17/5/2012 15:12 | As I arrived late all I heard was someone cross-questioning the board about the training and suitability of the directors. I had to go to another meeting afterwards so i'm afraid that other than relating there about fifty or so shareholders I can't help. Sorry | peter27
17/5/2012 13:52 | I just looked on the Cookson web site and there is pdfs of the voting but nothing about discussions on splitting up the company nor about Cevian joining the board | robertfaulkner
17/5/2012 13:44 | Anyone got any news from the AGM, Peter have you got WiFi? | robertfaulkner
17/5/2012 10:30 | Finkwot, did I post too often? It's not everyday I see a 9.25% rise after seeing my share drop well into a loss. | robertfaulkner |
