06/9/2011 14:15 | Surely you are not suggesting that you should only post on a bulletin board if you hold that share ? If you are then I think you misunderstand the purpose of a bulletin board. A bulletin board does not exist just to champion the cause of a particular company and to hope that its share price will rise forever and a day. After all that has hardly been the experience of equity markets over the course of the last decade. CKSN is a trading share. One look at its chart reveals that to be so as it seeks out trading ranges and trading channels. And if we are indeed about to enter a protracted bear market, buy and hold is hardly the wisest investment strategy to adopt. | bobsidian
06/9/2011 10:01 | take it that you are out of all equities, bob - so why are you bothering to post? | huntie2
05/9/2011 18:19 | We may - and I do stress may - be in the early stages of the next major bear market. If this is indeed the case then the downside target to mark the foot of this bear market for the S&P500 could be as low as 560. That would see the FTSE100 drop to around 2,700 with the FTSE250 at around 4,500. Mind numbing were this to be the case. Where would the share price be for CKSN at such a time ? Back to around £1.00 or lower. Shocking. Buying into extreme weakness and selling into any short term strength may become the trading pattern going forward for those who are long of equity markets. What would be the circumstances triggering such a decline ? Doubtless protracted selling by financial institutions as they seek to generate liquidity compounded by fund redemptions as private investors exit their exposure to equities. Hmm. | bobsidian
05/9/2011 08:21 | ....one day, these will be seen as cheap.... | huntie2
05/9/2011 06:54 | Unless I've got this wrong, that CKSN S P seems tied to China's prosperity, we may be in for even more trouble for the next few days. It seems that China's housing bubble has at last (unfortunately) started to crack. The China house price index has dropped, for the first time for some years, by 9%. And that it apparently has a long way to fall | robertfaulkner
31/8/2011 18:52 | Up 30p over 6% lovelt jubbly, to 527p. £6 her we come. | robertfaulkner
31/8/2011 13:10 | Daz Should go a lot higher than this, Drop well overdone. | rwlly
30/8/2011 11:29 | With the markets so oversold, I think there's every chance of a bounce, which will take CKSN with it, not sure how far it will go though. | daz
25/8/2011 09:37 | Well I'm just in profit for my second tranche at 482p my first tranche is well under water | robertfaulkner
25/8/2011 08:31 | Well you got it Robert. Be nice to see this back over £5 for me. Regards......kazz | kazz
25/8/2011 08:29 | Another good rise this morning, is this because of good figures out of China, the general market being oversold or some lovely stake buying? | robertfaulkner
24/8/2011 17:31 | Almost back to my Buy price of 482p on 18th Aug, Ho Hum | robertfaulkner
19/8/2011 20:03 | One hope is when we get back to more normal trading at the end of August, the price should recover when the big boys are back at work | robertfaulkner
19/8/2011 08:31 | hmm, thought they looked to have fallen a lot at 560, now 460! perhaps I should buy some more at 360! | huntie2
18/8/2011 16:29 | 10% wiped off Cookson today, this is getting rather serious | robertfaulkner
18/8/2011 16:00 | Oh well in for a few thousand more, I'll give Selftrade their due I had a limit buy of 485p and they completed at 482p, a little extra bonus unless the price drops another £1 | robertfaulkner
18/8/2011 12:22 | just had a look at the charts, this was 410p this time last year | robertfaulkner
18/8/2011 12:20 | I bought at what I thought was cheap the other day 561p now I have a top up limit buy at 485p and I'm thinking of lowering it in case I get them and they drop further. They say you have to have total capitulation before the market starts a true rise. Well this is getting pretty near | robertfaulkner
18/8/2011 11:23 | ....and even some of the defensives look a bit sickly! | huntie2
18/8/2011 10:25 | looks as if all growth stocks are being hit today, this is such a cheap stock on a valuation, but the mkt is not interested..only the defensives look to be holding up as such.. regds | limit up
18/8/2011 09:50 | wonder where any support level lies....but even then everything is tied up with general market sentiment.....roll on better days! | huntie2
09/8/2011 22:03 | Nice upward trend to the Dow as it closes. Not sure I've got the balls (or the balance) to buy in any further at the moment... | franciswills
09/8/2011 13:34 | Looks like the market might be turning around, a forward p/e of just over 6, time to buy some more? | daz
08/8/2011 18:37 | Looks like herd instinct,well oversold. | rwlly
08/8/2011 17:00 | 500p looks likely, I thought this was underpinned by great sales to China and great profits | robertfaulkner |
