At the AGM of Glotel Plc held today Les Clark, Chairman, made the following
statement: -

"We remain confident of achieving an improved result for the first half against
last time and of a performance in line with expectations for the current year as
a whole. Glotel continues to make progress in our USA and AsiaPac markets.
Consequently the contribution from overseas business continues to increase."

Still getting alot of coverage :)

Small Cap Shares Sept 2005 have put a buy note on Glotel.

"The company is extremely confident about immediate prospects and brokers look for at least £4m pre-tax this year and £5m next (years ending March), with earnings of 7p and 8.5p. The latter gives a rating of 12. Glotel has a small amount of net cash."

"The pace of Glotel's overseas businesses is verging in the shocking and we wouldn't be surprised to see a few upwards earnings revisions before next spring."

Could be worth looking at Leadcom (LEAD) Israeli telecoms company with 80% of turnover outside Israel. Growing incredibly fast. CEO hinting at the Nas next year, presumably as well as AIM.

All sounds so familiar -

GCI snippet from July -
All sectors of Glotel's business grew last year, with explosive growth coming from the USA, where sales trekked 46% north to £50.3m. 'Telecomms clients in the USA are all competing to get coast-to-coast networks,' remarked Clark, who also pointed to emphatic growth at the international business – Australia, mainland Europe and the rest of the world – where revenues jumped 76% to £25.6m. Clark insists the telecomms and technology markets are continuing to grow, and the group's global opportunities are 'abundant'.

Technology convergence creates diverse career opportunities for telecoms IT staff

The rapid development of voice and data technologies makes telecoms one of the most dynamic industries to work in

Quick snippet on Glotel -

Les Clark, chairman of recruitment company Glotel, sits on the board of the Association of Technology Staffing Companies. He said networking is a good way for IT professionals to break into the telecoms industry. His firm is placing project managers, technology architects, network designers and planners with telecoms companies. And there are opportunities worldwide.

"In the market in which we operate, 64% of business is overseas. There is an opportunity for contract staff because they are developing the infrastructure. There are opportunities anywhere you want to go," said Clark

And another snippet -

Growing demand for telecoms staff

Demand for telecoms staff is reviving after an 18-month drought, according to sector skills council E-Skills UK. And demand for networking professionals is at its highest since 2001, it said.

However, Philip Virgo, strategic advisor at the Institute for the Management of Information Systems warned that the UK needs to keep its skills up to date as it competes in a global market.

For example, next-generation network standard IP version 6 is not being taught in the UK or the US but it is being taught on the Pacific Rim, he said.

"Everyone is going to have to transition their networks [from IPv4]. Those who can do that kind of thing are going to be in great demand. The problem is going to be where to acquire those skills," said Virgo

Looking better now -

AGM next monday - maybe hear some more news on trading - though already said trading has started well.

"We are pleased with the progress that we are making and the current year has
started well. The run rate of sales and profits from our existing income streams
is encouraging and we should continue to grow from this established base. Glotel
is now in a position to steadily increase shareholder returns".

Not sure you can read much into it CR as it was all of 20 grand - that's 2-3 months salary (perhaps he's splashing out on a summer holiday)- both him and the FD have never held many shares - they only acquired these ones as part of the salary sacrifice scheme (at 39p so still a good profit). I suspect they're like Frank Martin at Hornby who considers options sales as part of his compensation.

The other directors still own 42% of the company. Outlook statement 6 weeks ago said

* The client base is expanding and penetration into major accounts has
improved significantly.

* The current year has started well and the Group's outlook is positive.

I also expect them to do quite well out of Hurrican Katrina - think of all the engineers needed to repair those mobile phone bases throughout the three states. AGM on the 12th September.

Was that his complete holding what the COO sold yesterday?

Not a positive when a director sells on a short term low imo.

Bit of covergae from Numis -

Tuesday, August 16, 2005 4:23:22 AM ET
Dow Jones Newswires

0802 GMT [Dow Jones] Numis reiterates Harvey Nash (HVN.LN) at buy following a positive pre-close trading statement. Keeps pretax profit estimate to Jan '06 at GBP3.7M and EPS at 4.2p. Says the shares are trading on a multiple of 11.0x "far too cheap given the background of improving trading and potential for upgrades as the year progresses."

Feels investors should also look elsewhere in the recruitment sector ahead of announcements from Robert Walters, PSD and Glotel. Shares trade +9.7% at 51p. (DWE)

Glotel are still posting a number of contract positions all over the country - an indication that they have more work than their staff can cope with. Excellent news since it is confirmation that they have a growing business

Glotel - BUY
Companies: GLO
13/07/2005

Telecommunications engineer recruiter Glotel, emerging from tough times, dialled up strong full year results to March with profits lifted across the divisions. Chairman Les Clark unveiled a jump in pre-tax profits from £800,000 to £2.6m, as sales leapt 32% higher to £119.5m on buoyant demand from a more confident and wider client base. Clark flagged up the ongoing success of expansion into higher margin overseas operations – overseas sales now make up 64% of total sales, up from 54% last year – a trend he is keen to see continue. Domestic sales have fallen from 46% to 36%. The operational gearing effect of good cost management on greater volumes, as well as a higher proportion of overseas sales, meant second half margins were higher than the first. For 2006, house broker Baird, has upgraded profit forecasts from £3.5m to £4m – for earnings of 6.7p – with the 2007 estimate lifted from £3.8m to £5m. A forward rating of 14 times is too low. Buy.
