07/8/2017 09:11 | I am slowly selling as I expect the share price to fall mightly regardless of who wins. all imho | kaos3
07/8/2017 07:15 | And in the meantime, not much progress will be made towards actually doing anything about proving up the gold they claim to have in the ground........ They are probably "loving it".... Probably the most exciting thing that has happened at CGNR for years....... And I mean years....... On a different note, does anybody on here follow Dalradian ( the geologist's eyes must water when he sees the grades they refer to!!!!!!,)? | thecynical1
07/8/2017 07:13 | So o Sullivan will now be looking to remove the prof, m Jones and G Earls..... | goldeneye5
07/8/2017 07:09 | The MTR investment in Conroy was under PJs reign he is no longer part of MTR. MTR are basically getting out of most of PJs investments. | bageo
07/8/2017 00:28 | Thanks for elaborating, Goldeneye. I wouldn't spend too much time pondering TW's reading of events, the bloke goes where the benefit is to him imo. I've been concerned about the genuineness of the PJ GH proposals since MTR declared their reduced holding. Now with Teeling coming into the frame and PJ stocking up with Teeling's CON shares, it's clear things may not be all they seemed. I'm sure O'Sullivan is a good businessman but he wouldn't necessarily have the contacts to put mining sector deals together so if Gervais and PJ backed off he'd be a bit isolated. Teeling would add weight but then again he hasn't performed for his own shareholders so far. As ad1967 said above, proper little mini soap and you can't as yet predict the outcome. | paleje
06/8/2017 22:21 | I notice that Tom W didn't even mention Mr Teeling. How well informed was he about the meeting as everyone at the meeting knows and saw this all play out. How well informed was Tom W, or how well informed did he choose to be! It's a big point to fail to mention. He also didn't mention the no show by Paul Johnson and Gervais Heddle at the meeting. There was no explanation or apology for their no show. One would think that this along with the proposed directors lack of any proposed plan put forward would have made Tom W at least pause for thought. TW knows and has said it many times before that Conroy and M Jones are good, honest people and that he has a great fondness for them. To abandon this opinion so quickly to me looks like he took the easy option with his latest article. I will hazard a guess that his opinion may soften again soon as he realises what really just happened. All in good time. | goldeneye5
06/8/2017 22:16 | Perhaps the Prof should take up script writing. He's certainly turned CGNR into an entertaining soap opera. Nice cliffhanger at the end of the AGM episode. Mine promoters are often rogues and he's certainly proven that in recent weeks. I like how he tarred O'Sullivan with the no mining experience brush, then pimped his own daughter who's similarly challenged. Great stuff. Looking forward to the next episode. Can he fix his tattered reputation? Will he accept fate or fight on? Plenty of plot twists still available. No doubt CGNR owe the Directors a lot of backdated salary and fees (salary by another name). Plenty of scope for further intrigue and mischief. | ad1967mc
06/8/2017 21:56 | J T has held a grudge for many years as he tried to take control of previous Conroy company but failed. I had no idea of his involvement behind o Sullivan until Friday. To be honest I had forgotten PJ had been building Connemara shares too. My belief is that the idea was to get new directors in and kick out the prof, with the overall objective of installing J Teeling as chairman. Teeling has always wanted this and in any articles or interviews over the years about Irish exploration including gold exploration he never mentions conroy gold or the prof. It's as if they don't exist. Nobody here has even commented on JTs involvement. He voted with o Sullivan at the meeting and he was the one Mr McEvoy (legal for the rebels) consulted with all the time as o Sullivan stood off. When it all kicked off at the end of the meeting Mr McEvoy walked up the middle of the room shouting at the professor in a rage and then after saying to the professor "we will see you elsewhere", Mr McEvoy ran do the back of the room to consult with John Teeling. The two of them then proceeded to bury there heads in Mr McEvoys notes he was carrying. O Sullivan then got up of his seat very slowly and edged towards the other two, but stood back from them to allow them to consult for some time. It was clear who was running the rebels. 06/8/2017 20:57 | Goldeneye what exactly is your point or theory about Teeling and are you talking about the same Teeling as in Connemara? If it is the same are you aware that PJ has been building a stake in his co and now has near 10%. But he wasn't buying CGNR even though nominated to join their board. Then we found MTR had disposed of the bulk of their Conroy holding, we don't know to whom. Are you saying Teeling is going to emerge as an active player? Something is very not right. Perhaps CON might be the one to watch. | paleje
06/8/2017 19:05 | Didn't Tow W not just publish an article last week praising Conroy and with distain for O sullivan....he must have got that case of bushmills or else the wind changed...He wasn't at the meeting so fairly unprofessional to overreact in the way he has. He will probably regret it soon when he learns more!! | goldeneye5
06/8/2017 18:59 | I notice no reference to the fact that Paul Johnson and Gervais Heddle the so called proposed directors did not bother to show up. What kind of signal is that to shareholders?I Notice Tom W does not mention John Teeling. Everyone there saw what he was doing and saw that Mr McEvoy kept running to Telling with his papers and not running to O Sullivan. After Paul o Kelly a shareholder spoke without prejudice there was no attempt by o sullivan to explain his plans. | goldeneye5
06/8/2017 12:30 | Notice the Sunday papers don't mention JT, they just call him O Sullivan's cohort. Surely they knew who he was. Weird | goldeneye5
04/8/2017 23:43 | Wonder did the press notice Teelings involvement today. They couldn't have missed it. | goldeneye5
04/8/2017 23:28 | at 84/85 years of age to be able to run today's meeting in the way he did was impressive. Even o Sullivan had admiration. | goldeneye5
04/8/2017 23:05 | I believe that the company´s share price has cratered by c. 99% since its high about 7 yrs ago. The appointment of the 3 new directors failed due to a technicality which will be contested I think. And you call the prof ´a true legend´. You should consider a career in comeday, G5. | 4marlin
04/8/2017 22:30 | What I would say the rebels didn't see it as a victory as they were fuming at the end. The professor was superb today. A true legend. A total gent. That said, o Sullivan behaved well too. | goldeneye5
04/8/2017 22:26 | Sorry meant to say resolutions 1 to 6 were carried not defeated, apologies. | goldeneye5
04/8/2017 22:23 | As for the end, that was very unexpected. The new director proposals failed on a legal technicality. Mr Mckevoy lost the head and started shouting from the floor when the meeting was closed as it was embarrassing end for the rebel movement. Their legal messed up. The resolutions 1 to 6 were defeated in the poll by approx 3.4m to 3.1m approx. Everyone was stunned at end, sad to see some of the directors gone but delighted most importantly to see O Sullivan, Heddle and P Johnson not get on the board. Bitter/sweet. .....make no mistake Mr Teeling was behind this whole rebellion. It may be a genius stroke by the prof, I simply don't know as I'm no legal expert. You can be sure there will be legal scrambling now and O Sullivan's Legal is getting hair dryer treatment!I nearly spilled my popcorn! | goldeneye5
04/8/2017 22:02 | The will of the majority was against, it's the will of the large shareholders which has been denied. Every resolution was proposed and seconded by either mr o sullivan, mr mckevoy (o Sullivan's legal) or Mr Nixon (MTR). Every resolution was defeated on the floor by approx 37/38 against to 4 - 7 for. But o Sullivan requested a poll (as expected). However as it was clear from the start that the show of hands and hand count was resounding o Sullivan left the room to maybe save a little embarrassment. When it came to resolution to install o Sullivan as director he wasn't even in the room to vote for himself. A shareholder stood up asking for the proposed directors Paul Johnson and Gervais Heddle to introduce themselves as the were proposed as directors. However embarrassingly they had not bothered to come to the meeting at all!It was clear from watching Mr McKevoy, O Sullivan and yes the possible mastermind of the coup Mr Teeling( who saw that one coming) that they were fairly sure they had all 9 resolutions in the bag. Yes that's right Teeling behind the whole thing. Who did Mr McKevoy (legal) run too when the drama occurred at the end, yep Mr Teeling, not mr o Sullivan. Teeling pulling the strings. | goldeneye5
04/8/2017 21:23 | The battle will go on, I suspect. The will of the majority has been denied for the moment by a technicality which I think will be disputed. Do note that much damage has been done to the company´s last remaining reputation, probably in the eyes of the company´s nomad and brokers too. Do not be surprised to see another EGM called. | 4marlin
04/8/2017 18:58 | Fair play. But has much change ? i suspect they will stay on as staff so will the payroll change? ? In the interest of fairness let's hope both companies start getting regular updates news etc and all share price go north. I hope the BOD Will learn from this. All said and done we have all put our faith and investment in these companies. | stevehoops |
