07/9/2010 12:39 | 'Chairman must be sick after losing his wad of cash in this' last few D4E refinancings that his lot were involved with gave big chunks of the companies to employees. He'll possibly make back many times what he lost. | the_doctor

07/9/2010 11:40 | hvs, Can't guarantee I can bring them back to life, but they have a large depot on the Hogwood Industrial Estate, Reading where my business is located. I look out over their office and they used to have the maintenance contract for the REME base in Arborfield where we supplied goods for them. Just glad I didn't get caught as they have a 20K credit facility with me. | samtom2

07/9/2010 11:28 | mind you jeffian, it seems fair to have let holders out at that price if others wanted to gamble on buying in? | the_doctor
07/9/2010 11:27 | Given that the extended finance was for only one month and the outcome of discussions with the bankers uncertain to say the least, I'm extremely surprised it wasn't suspended at the time of the initial announcement "pending the outcome of refinancing negotiations" (or some such phrase they usually use). | jeffian
07/9/2010 11:25 | Boffster, I own a building supply company as well as abuilding business and Connaught, Rok and Carillion all have accounts with my company. The Administrators now run the business and any goods supplied to sites from today is underwritten by the administrators. Therefore goods supplied whilst they are in administration are guaranteed to be paid. However that does not include goods supplied upto last night whilst the company was still solvent. It would be illegal for the Administrators to obtain goods without having the funds to pay the supplier. Luckily CNT have no outstanding account with me at present, so wasn't caught. Connaught actually have a main office 100 yards from me, with about 30 brand new transit vans alway parked there. So i will have a chat to the guys there later and find out what I can. | samtom2

07/9/2010 10:52 | I have knowledge of one contract where the sub-contractors are starting to pull their men off site. One subbie claiming to be owed £400k which will surely put him to the wall. How the administrators think they'll manage to run a company with no sub contractors or suppliers is a mystery! | barsco
07/9/2010 10:47 | Boffster: Well yeah would you give them credit if you supplied to them? | peterboroughmatt |
