Having been one of the first investors in this company I have followed them with great interest and read threads with great interest without comment.
I am sure that the new CEO and director's will continue to do well.
I would like to pay tribute to the former CEO, of almost 4 decades (almost unparalleled in this field) I knew him as having an incisive almost encyclopedic knowledge and a humorous individual. No time for obfuscation, in an ever changing field such as his. I suspect Jr.s remained so for a reason.
For those of you unaware Mr Fawcett ensured investors received a healthy return.
His family set up fundraising (curtailed by Covid) for the purpose of research into Brain Tumours especially GBM4. May he rest in peace. And thank you for your loyalty to a company for almost 40 years.

Having previously been employed by them in a junior role. One thing I can always say is that they always pay a dividend.

I also held the opinion about the then MD Glen or I liked to refer to him as 'Glenda' Fawcett due to his legendary management style and 'interrogating' emails which defied even basic logic, which eventually p*ssed off a lot of staff at the time who either retired early/resigned, myself included. I always liked that Glenda would send me on a fool's errand when the Directors were around on-site as he didn't like me voicing my opinion - I eventually got you to pay for the feeders Glenda, but you never knew I was a shareholder reporting to others, ya blind foo! Soon got that investment sorted out didn't we!

The staff otherwise were top-notch and David I am glad to see is still there and while he does, so will my investment. Good to see key people retained that are the actual business. With Jane's departure, it will be interesting to see what the new kid is going to do for the company - I did at the time and still do have holdings in this company as I still believe in them and the market. I am glad to have played my part at the time in the progress in the company.

Nicely timed chaps...

Once we have confirmation in September figures of " Business as Usual" I reckon double digit purchases of CNC will be a thing of the past..

It’d be nice to see the director’s boost their share holdings at these low levels.

CNC have plenty of cash on the balance sheet and pay a good dividend.

The only fly in the ointment perhaps is the shortage of chips and the impact it’s having on the business..?

This is looking bad. I know its been a bad day all round but there is never any news from CNC - it just tends to drip up then drip down on nothing really. The last couple of weeks falls are going to take a couple of years to regain at normal pace :-(

Thats part of it. I think Market Makers are forced to make a market by law. So prices become completely irrational. This started months ago but has accelerated with the recent uncertain COVID news. The last update was cautious, but plenty of orders building on success of 2020. Doesn't really merit a 30% drop from last year highs, but then whenever was there any logic to share prices. Just expect at some point in the next year or so we will be back over £1. In the meantime a fairly safe 3% dividend I hope!

Had the same initial thought as Nocton. Pretty much what I guess we all know. I liked the use of the word 'Stewardship' which again we all think is CNC's great strength. News of a really exciting product development would be the booster needed I guess, Chip shortage a bit worrying

Unusual/odd use of the word 'slam'! It had me worried until I followed the link.

I believe the AGM may bring some good news..

Re-reading the last set of numbers Mark Cubitt said...

" The current record order book, which has seen a substantial increase during the first quarter of 2021, gives the Board confidence in the Group's continuing solid performance."

Couple this with 11.8 million of cash on the balance sheet and I think the future's looking good..

They've been selling since well before Christmas it's the reason we went down as low as 84p last November imo but the chart is looking much better now, it's not really gone up with the general market so maybe some catching up to do?

There's also maybe a bit of interest in the sector too with the proposed meggitt takeover so that might also put a bit of wind in the sails.

Were they selling before results? No doubt we will get an RNS soon when all will be revealed. Nice to see us on the top gainers list for once (well No 55 anyway !!)
Its good to see us recover so well and quite a lot of activity (for CNC). It looks like we might kick on from here - I hope. Be an interesting week
