27/6/2004 14:56 | A number of Directors bought at around 25p last March/April before the closed period I would think, no news of late 19p is looking temping. | dealit
06/6/2004 20:29 | According to Fridays Express there was some talk of a positive trading update and revised figures.Have to wait and see,I`m back in whatever. | geraldus
05/6/2004 09:05 | Missed the opportunity/failed to top up this week as didn't feel comfortable with the dramatic share price movements on very low volume. However, technically it looks as if CNC is now on an upward path, each time bottoming at a slightly higher price: 21/1 @18.25p, 25/2 @18.75p, 13/4 @ 19.0p, 27/5 @19.5p. I don't think we'll see it fall below 20p again this year. And, if we get good news on the Thales front, we could see it back at 27.5p, if not 30p very quickly. What do others think? | rosethepose
02/6/2004 15:09 | Well there's another 460k dumped/sold @19p..(lots of 230k each). Well MMs sure have enough stock now..wonder whether there is a buyer for these. If not then we may get these a bit cheaper yet. | jailbird
31/5/2004 07:59 | I expect results in early September.. I agree H2 should be good. There's good support at this 19/20p level. If it ever drops below 19p, I will top up heavy. If we had a seller it may create an opportunity but these are tightly held and cannot see anyone large institution will want to sell these. | jailbird
30/5/2004 22:20 | Do you think the share price is still being held back by the component supply problem? I had always understood that the discontinued component had been replaced by a superior component which gave CNC a competitive edge. Also. I understood that they hadn't actually lost sales, they had only been delayed. Surely the delayed sales should be coming through during the second half (July-December) along with initial take-up of the first joint venture products with Thales. Agree with you that increased sales from the US is great plus they're also expecting increased sales from China. Put all that together, it should add up to a bumper 2nd half. By 'next results', I presume you mean interims? Do you know when they're due out? Would like to top up but I want to time it right, if that's ever possible! | rosethepose
30/5/2004 19:06 | I think they have some stock that one of the MMs willing to sell at this price. I remenber there was 186k sold at 20p a few weeks back. But I have to say..CNC are expecting sales in the US which is great. But their margins need to be good coz the weak dollar will have an impact on revenues which I feel, will recover , only after the elections are over. The component delay , they have admitted will also affect yhe 1st half..but if they do get a pick up in the newer products it may balance itself. Still I think I hope to buy near the next results. But I have a price limit and no funds available to buy yet. | jailbird
30/5/2004 08:51 | First commercial products coming out of the joint venture with Thales are due out this quarter (April-June) with rugged products becoming available later this year. Think we can expect an update on sales soon. At the current price of 20p, it looks like a good buying opportunity, particularly as Dirctors paid significantly more 6 weeks ago. What do others think? | rosethepose
13/5/2004 09:49 | Big sell yesterday below bid price @20p, still concerned about the dollar affect if sales are good in the U.S | jailbird

07/5/2004 13:46 | news just out May 2004 To meet customer demands for even lower power dissipation Concurrent Technologies now support Enhanced Intel® SpeedStep® Technology on their range of VME (VP 305/01x) and CompactPCI® (PP 310/01x) single board computers, including extended operating temperatures. By utilizing the Intel® Pentium® M processor they allow a system designer to have greater control over the thermal and power characteristics of the board. Tests on Concurrent Technologies boards show benefits, when stepping a 1.6 GHz board down to 600 MHz, of up to four times less +5V current. Therefore, depending on the application requirements, the processor frequency operating point of a Concurrent Technologies Intel Pentium M processor board can be pre-set in the BIOS, or controlled dynamically via the application's operating system. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology enables the system software to control the processor's operating frequency and input voltage. For example, the 1.6 GHz processor has 6 different frequency points ranging from 1.6 GHz down to 600 MHz. Unlike legacy versions of Intel SpeedStep Technology, which required hardware support through the chipset, the software model now provides a centralized implementation that enables the software to access the processor and its voltage regulator without using the chipset. This reduction in hardware and improved software interface has reduced the processor core unavailability time from 250μs to 10μs; the software can perform a frequency/voltage state transition by simply writing to one register. Concurrent Technologies VME and CompactPCI single board computers, utilizing the Intel Pentium M processor, can support a variety of operating systems that utilize the software model behind Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology. -------------------- Concurrent Technologies single board computers currently utilizing a 1.6 GHz or 1.1 GHz Intel Pentium M processor are... 02/5/2004 18:10 | ONE IN FOUR OF US WILL AT SOME TIME SUFFER FROM CANCER Most of us can relate to cancer in some way, and the majority on this site run a pc for a large part of the day. You have probably heard of the number crunching networks run by seti, here is imo a far more worthwhile use of your pc. download this software and it runs in the background (or if you choose when pc is idle) of your computer to screen molecules that may be developed into drugs to fight cancer. Each individual computer analyzes a few molecules and then sends the results back over the Internet for further research. This project is anticipated to be the largest computational chemistry project ever undertaken and represents a genuine hope to find a better way to fight cancer. You can also choose to work on anthrax or smallpox. the link to the site is advfn has a team already set up which you can join, but only has at present 155 members. It took me a while to configure the settings, so if you get stuck, and i can't help, i'm sure we can find someone who can. there is a previous thread which is 3 years old - and some of the links are now outdated. 23/4/2004 17:43 | RNS Number:9529X Concurrent Technologies PLC 23 April 2004 CONCURRENT TECHNOLOGIES PLC AGM Statement At today's Annual General Meeting, Michael Collins, Chairman of Concurrent Technologies which manufactures high end embedded computer products for critical applications in the defence, transportation, communications and industrial markets, made the following comments: "This year has started well for Concurrent Technologies, with an upward trend in sales activity in the areas of defence and communications markets and demand for our embedded computer products in these and our other markets continues to grow. This buoyancy in our areas of activity is enabling us to identify additional opportunities to grow our customer base. "Our investment in design and development, which in 2003 increased to over #1 million for the first time, supports our strategy to expand our existing product ranges. In my results statement I reiterated our aim to expand more into the area of wide temperature computer products for hostile environments which we had introduced in the first half of 2003. Last week we announced an agreement with Thales Computers, a recognised world leader in military and aerospace computer technology, for the co-development of a new family of embedded computers. These products will be available in commercial, extended temperature and rugged versions. "The agreement with Thales is complementary between the two companies and will be beneficial to the customers of both Thales and Concurrent Technologies. "At the time of our results, I emphasised the growing importance of our American markets. To support our US operations we plan to recruit additional sales staff in the USA to grow and service our increasing customer base. "We look forward to another productive period for the company." 23 April 2004 Enquiries: Concurrent Technologies Plc Glen Fawcett, Managing Director 01206 752 626 College Hill Nicholas Nelson 020 7457 2020 Notes to Editors: Concurrent Technologies designs, builds and supplies high end embedded computer products to the defence, transportation, communication and industrial markets. 23/4/2004 15:49 | RNS out - very positive outlook. | pre
20/4/2004 10:48 | Despite the markup since the 15th in CNC share price, I still feel that the scope of the joint venture with Thales has not yet begun to be priced in. Going back to the RNS, Thales is a major electronics company with a truely blue chip customer list. Surely, it must have opened up a massive market opportunity for CNC: "Thales is an international electronics and systems group serving the defense, aerospace, and security markets. The group employs 62,000 people worldwide and generated revenues of Euro10.6 billion in 2003. Thales Computers is a leading developer of commercial and ruggedized VMEbus systems solutions based on PowerPC and Pentium microprocessors. The company's products are optimized for a wide variety of applications in the military, aerospace, transportation, communications, and industrial markets and are used by customers worldwide, including Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, Bombardier, Toshiba, BAE, British Aerospace, Ericsson, Alcatel, Thales Group, and others." David, I'm really surprised you sold some last Friday. This tops my list of AIM shares with growth potential. However, it's not going to happen overnight! | rosie wilson
20/4/2004 10:00 | Hmmm... looks like wrong move to have sold when I did on Friday... but still have 22.4k, sitting tight on those! | browndavid
20/4/2004 09:53 | nice tick up again today new product expected to be on sale soon.. | edwards45 |
