Interested in the Allnet purchase today.
never been a fan of CCC but a few things falling into place may prove tempting.

The anticipated increase in box sales is the obvious one, though Dell are clearly not finding the market buoyant yet.
But for me the C&W agreement is more important. I believe CCC now have big tie-ups with BT, C&W & T-mobile. +Probably other carriers I'm unaware of currently. Also think the BT one will be ramped up soon, too.

staying out for the moment, a little debt-heavy for me, but will follow closely.

Computacenter Announces Global Desktop Contract with BT

28/03/07

Following recent success in extending provision of its infrastructure services to smaller organisations, the BT deal is consistent with Computacenter's complementary focus on revenue growth from the large enterprise market.

Under the new BT contract, Computacenter will take responsibility for fulfilment, support and related services for BT's 112,000 global desktops.

Financial savings are a key component of the agreement, with Computacenter Services committing to year on year cost reductions. This will be achieved in part by Computacenter Services buying back most of the current BT desktop/laptop estate and providing BT with a single monthly charge for products and services. This innovative approach will enhance the client experience through the provision of a managed technology refresh programme.

BT Group will also benefit from Computacenter Services' Shared Services Factory (SSF) operating model. Designed to remove complexity, ensure best practice and embed quality improvement, the SSF captures key elements of the most successful projects and uses them to create a flexible set of standards that can be applied consistently across future initiatives.

The BT contract is the largest services contract negotiated by Computacenter to date and underpins a key management strategy of accelerating our contractual services growth.

Mike Norris, Chief Executive of Computacenter plc said:

"Computacenter and BT have an excellent working relationship dating back over thirteen years. We have built upon a strong foundation delivered by Computacenter into the BT UK base and are now extending the scope to encompass other UK groups and the global estate. This contract demonstrates our ability to deliver end-to-end contracted services to our customers, who are increasingly looking to Computacenter for an internationally managed approach. BT is a valued customer and we welcome the opportunities, both immediate and long-term, that the formalisation of this new contract will bring."

Meryl Bushell, Chief Procurement Officer at BT said:

"In reaching this decision we considered four key factors. These were the ability to support BT's expanding global footprint and enhance the desktop support experience for our employees, whilst keeping costs competitive and ensuring that our partner has a good track record in managing the people implications associated with managing a change of this nature. Computacenter was rated very highly in all of these elements and we look forward to building upon our successful track record of working together."

BT contract won!

Share price down on news!

Guess due to it being a leasing deal rather than sale to BT.

Or maybe it's just that the CCC share price has a life of its own and goes merrily up and down all the time...

News on the BT contract due, and according to the last statement the CEO is "cautiously optimistic" about this. I think it was due at the end of last month?
