Dollar Helps Propel Oil to Three-Year High as Supplies Tighten

→ A weaker greenback is seen supporting crude oil prices
→ Hedge funds boost net-bullish Brent bets to record high

Oil just got an extra tailwind from a weakening dollar as this month is shaping up to be the best January for black gold in 12 years.

That’s because when the greenback is losing value, investors tend to flock to commodities as a store of value, and this is coming on the back of a record streak of declines in American spare supplies of crude...

12bn - People ( and now Institutional Investor Schroders ) are prepared to pay the current share price because they ( unlike you ) do their research and consider what CERP will look like as targets are achieved by new management.

I know it was gutting for you that the end of year target was achieved with the aid of the new pumping technology ( which you didn't understand ) but sometime the penny will drop - even the 1950's Festinger people had to move on with their lives when the flood did not happen ( the prices of all those Noah's Arks took a bit of a hit though!).

Yeah, all about the passage of time, and sitting tight.

Like all good investments.

I totally agree. No matter where we are now, it is obvious that this company is going to grow considerably. Just need patience.

Tony Hawkins....Sounds like a pleasant chap. Hopefully he's able to pulls strings for us as he did Centrica.

I do like how, unlike any other company on aim, our board all seem highly professional....CERP has blue chip written all over it IMO.

rossannan, fine, but you did put a greater emphasis on Range's ROCE... let's stick to our man and our company!....

....and your 'It is not a good thing in itself, it is only a good thing if it is profitable.' .............goes without saying! :0)

ross, When you have two or maybe three waterflood experts in the company, then there is no need to worry about profitability. It's not like our guys are new to the game. That is why they have performed water injection on a small scale - to see if the results warrant large scale flooding. It's the way that good engineers work.

rossannan, CERP brought forward the WF programme and have the resources to do so and Leo considered it a justifiable next stage. So, with his 'enhanced credibility' I trust him to do what he considers will enhance the value here. I am looking forward to the WF update.....and beyond.

EDIT: Leo and his team have immense experience in that field (WF).

TG, thanks.

BTW, when I was at uni, we had some lecturers who bored us to death (Ritson like) and we learnt nothing, then we had some so charismatic and we wanted to hear everything they had to say and learnt a lot and were excited by the way the information was relayed (cue Leo). One of things I read about Leo when he joined us was his ability to inspire the team (who may have lost their mojo) and he has gone about building a management team that follows his ethos. They all now exude positive energy.

The point is Schroders do have a small cap,Aim linked fund and it is likely to be a high risk high reward/loss fund. Imo,(conjecture), they probably bought at the end of the year to keep the share price up for their funds end of year performance figures. Just a possibility, speculation, not a statement of fact.

And rossannan, I would agree with you that...
"I don’t think he’s going to turn Goudron into some kind of cash cow anytime soon, or at least not enough of one to fund his bigger plans, but taming Goudron and sound financial management have enhanced his credibility"...

Taming Goudron so far is an enormous achievement considering we were on our knees under the previous management, thus giving credibility to the team and optimism for future.

12bn - 23 Jan 2018 - 10:32:51 - 615 of 640 Lind issued monthly with millions of 4.5p shares SELL at 7,25p! - CERP
Schroders are invested in Redt as well, this is another risky Aim share that they were never in previously,I reckon that they have set up a new high risk fund and it is some young fund manager trying to make a name for himself. It would explain the end of the year buying to boost the share price artificially, imo. A Cedros farm in would only happen if Koots finds a mug to put in most of the money,as I doubt Cerp could afford a 50% JV cost!!!!/////// This is the actual post,do you have difficulty in understanding that 'I reckon' means it is opinion, conjecture, not meant to be read as a statement of fact northpole2?
