I didn't notice the other announcement sneaked out yesterday about the insurers coughing up. That's cleaned the company up, making it a tastier morsel. |
Thanks for that, spooky. I take your point. Are you suggesting that the potential acquiror is picking up a chunk of the stock now, to demonstrate they are serious and also to get the shares more cheaply than if they pay the full bid price?
Unlucky farsight. If you didn't work for a living, you might be better off! |
I wish I didn't work for a living and could be around to spot this sort of thing. Sigh. |
No,the market is willing to buy a large line of stock at this new higher price, they have a buyer. This usually indicates to me that the bid is real and will be followed up.Not foolproof but a good indication. |
I think that the fact that Comino have engaged an advisor is a sign that talks are fairly well-advanced. (Is that what you meant by looking for size?) |
Agreed, spooky, about the price. I wouldn't rule out a contested bid, either. Comino is the last company of its type not to be taken out yet. |
This would appear to be a fairly serious approach, they are looking for "size" on the bid and that is normally a good indication.
Time to guess a take out price,i would suggest £2.40 as a starting point, roughly 10 times revenues plus the cash,14/15 times next years expected numbers.Sounds as though that should keep both sides happy.
:-) |
Now we're getting the sales - presumably some of them from people who bought yesterday.
I'm staying in to see what transpires. |
Gosh! Weren't those people who bought in yesterday lucky! Hardly any deals for weeks and then just before the announcement people started buying. What a coincidence! I hope they've got their stories straight before the rather nasty little phone call which is likely to come shortly. |
its in bid talks |
Here we go again..... |
OMG is worth checking out...owners of subsidiary Vicon Systems, manufacturers of
the worlds first 4million pixel motion capture technology, used in Spiderman 2,
Thunderbirds etc. End of year 30/9. Currently at resistance level of 28p, Will
probably drift a few pence lower before then if you want to buy in at a good
price. Looking very bullish. DYOR

Nope. No volume to speak of though. I guess it's a few little sells, no buyers, and then some stop losses being triggered. |
Anyone know the reason for the 8% fall so far today? |
Excellent news from the AGM today. Continued strong demand in Local Government Business and the dispute has been resolved out of court - although it would have been nice to have been told the relevant sums involved. Anyway it looks as though they will try to claim this money from their insurers. The uncertainty with this problem has been holding back the shares imo and I am hoping to see the shares go back over £2 in due course. |
What happened to the "...robust defense and counterclaim..." alluded to by the Chairman in his statement in the final results on 27th May ? Provided the PI claim is accepted, the effect on cash will be near neutral. |
Well, I did top up three weeks ago.
Not like those super-intelligent people who have bought in the last 48 hours. If I had a suspicious mind, I might even think that they had some sort of knowledge that the legal action was being settled amicably out of court. |
Agreed, holdontight, the chart doesn't look good. I doubt that it has much to do with leaking bad news, though, just smallish short term investors hopping out after piling in a couple of weeks ago.
I think the chart could turn quite quickly. |
In general I agree with you. But the technicals don't....may be some more bad news on the way, which I would imagine connected with the legal dispute. JMHO |
All the stop losses being triggered by the small players!
Down a bit more, please, then I can top up.
Apart from the legal issue, this share is a steal at the present level. Net cash balances have been rising steadily from the underlying business and should increase further this year if we have been given a clear steer on what's going on. Erbullion is right - over £10m net cash and a profitable business and the market cap is only £24m!
With the legal dispute, the company might win. If it loses, there is still the likelihood of professional indemnity insurance covering any settlement. Anyway, it might well get settled out of court. |
10 million in the bank after cash valued only 14 million ripe for takeover |
And the bid improves a little - from 160 to 163. A 20p drop did seem very cruel - this is a postive statement- good figures and a great start to the new year. I wouldn't even be surprised if they win the case and write back some profits this year. |
Well, they have certainly come out. They're fine apart from the legal action. |
