Amicable seems a little far fetched.

I don't believe it is so much that Debbiegee is in any sort of hurry, the way International deals are stacking up, ROI seem to be sweetening all-comers to invest in ROI, asap.

I think the ROI will want to see the back of Churchill as soon as can be arranged, black marks in, International industrial circles are extremely bad news and have a habit of becoming expensive. Emerging economies such as ROI need friendly investment and co-operation, there must not be the slightest hint of any corruption.

For me, in a completely unscientific way, it all comes down to an amicable, out of court settlement. Just a question of when.

This time they appear to be asking questions to be answered at the first pre trial submission. However this is also in PO 20.......The Parties shall submit simultaneously their cost submissions within three weeks after the second post-hearing briefs. They may then comment on the other Party's submission within two weeks.I suppose what I am trying to say is, it could drag on if the parties want it to!

Rossaman

I only see dates 12/10/15 and 9/11/15 for supplying papers so I had thought they would have all papers in hand by then ?
Are you assuming that this will lead to more questions and paper providing ?

[as you stated in an above post that they would not have all of the paperwork in front of them by December ]

Many seem to be thinking Jan for news so could just as easily be Dec or Feb.
Then there is always the surprise element :-)

patvieraI think the odds of a 'reasonable settlement' must be quite high, otherwise Churchill will continue with the ICSID route.Obviously there is a chance that the tribunal would not favour Churchill in its deliberations, but from what we have seen, I doubt they would lose all.Having said that, stranger things have happened. As financial commentators normally say, "Not one for Widows and Orphans", but a good bet in any case.

DebbieYou really think what's said on here is going to have any effect on the negotiations?? Wow I'm shocked.Which number post should I go to on the other thread as most of it is made up of posters throwing mud at each other? So what in your opinion are the odds of getting a reasonable settlement or do you not want to put your neck on the line and make any predictions?
