22/10/2009 13:21 | this is from natalia We hope so. First Oklahoma wells started producing but company is not generating any revenues yet as its an early stage production. The cash situation remains very tight. Just so you know and don't think we are just sitting here and burning cash - none of the directors has been paid anything for more than a year now and employees have not been paid for some time either so we are very eager to get this company up and running. Whether we succeed remains to be seen but we do what we can. Thank you. -------------------- From: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: 22 October 2009 10:22 To: Natalia Egorova Subject: Dare I ask if there is anything ever going to happen with Taurex? 04/8/2009 09:45 | 5bag, I have my own opinions on Bensh, but I may have been unlucky to see the worse side of Robert. I have no opinion of Taurex, and would wait for the next set of their accounts to see what cash/asset position they currently have. Overall, just write the investments in IVE and CDL off and treat anything you get out of it as a pleasant surprise. (I am a Ukraine specialist and have little/no expertise on the US.) | tolstoi
01/8/2009 18:41 | bb44/Tolstoi Some very in-depth knowledge being posted on here, credit to you guys. Where do you see cdl/taurex ending up in the next 12 months or so, also with respect to Rbt Bensch appointment at IVE? Apparently the IVE AGM was almost bullish, Rbt Bensch wasnt there but will come to london to meet sh/holders when the 'deal' is in the bag. regards | 5bag
30/7/2009 09:29 | bb44, thanks for the thought and wishes. I can tell you what I do, but not on this board, as if I lose my relative anonymity, this will reach my management very quickly. If Kub-gas' licences were indeed extended, then I am very intrigued as to who they are. Even Pinchuk is struggling to extend his licences. Will ask around today. My CV is very well suited for an E&P company in Ukraine. There just aren't many left, which I don't have a past or present "vested interest" in. Of the 3 listed, I am only anonymous to JKX and you know my relationship with the team left at KECC. So I am left with very few options that I know of: Eastone, Ferrexpo, Shell and JKX. JKX are dreary, and due to several quirks of history which I won't go into, the other three are in close and constant contact with my management. So I have to be very careful as to how I approach them. Being well connected is a double-edged sword when you are looking for jobs. But, as I said, at tolstoias@googlemail | tolstoi

29/7/2009 17:57 | they have a very strong roof and if you ask around, all licences were just extended. may be a good place for you to end up...they have a drilling business, and now that we've put our difference aside, there might be a role there. not sure, but it's a thought. i wish you luck with the kyoto deal...if it doesn't happen, you'll let us know? i hope you get it. what are you doing now? | bb44
29/7/2009 17:18 | and who is kub gas? Never heard of them, but their production looks reasonably juicy (by Ukrainian standards). Are they trying to sell themselves, or are they buying assets at the moment? I must be getting out of touch if I don't know companies such as this. Having googled them, they have a five year licence granted in the dirty licence granting period towards the end of Kuchma's regime (06-12 2004). Would require serious roof/footwork to extend it. | tolstoi
29/7/2009 17:06 | OK, other ideas, please. I am currently applying for a great Kyoto treaty business development job in Ukraine, and am one of the two candidates who are left in the recruitment process. The potential employer's management is great, the job is interesting, the company's roof is world class (As far as roofs go, there is no one better in the world, trust me) and if I had to choose between winning the lottery or this job, I would seriously rather get this job. But if that falls through (videoconference interview next week), I am absolutely stuffed for ideas relating to where to apply for next in this market. And I my present job is so dreary, it hurts. Don't get me wrong, it is well paid and stable, but it has none of the challenge compared to when I joined. Thanks in advance. | tolstoi
29/7/2009 16:53 | yes nothing sinister ferrexpo was looking at kub gas kub wasn't thrilled with the assets konstantin has focused on other issues and yes, the oil and gas co is quiet for the moment you don't want to work there konstantin is difficult, at best let's be honest no westerner (no offense to you) wants to work in Uraine with a roof or gray cardinal....period. without it, you're chasing around accomplishing little... if you want other ideas let me know, happy to help | bb44
29/7/2009 15:05 | Andy, not that sinister (unless I am missing something). Magisters were the go betweens between people behind Alberry and Regal's management. The people behind Alberry didn't start the Regal licence dispute, but they settled on behalf of Regal. They were sinister. By Ukrainian standards, Magisters are a decent lot. Although, allegedly one of Magisters' "former" partners is a wifebeater, which, when compared to the huge amount of actual murderers in Ukraine's parliament, business and government is a fairly innocent past-time (which I in no way commend). "former" means he still is a partner, but he had to resign whilst taking a senior government role. Like Hank Paulson was a "former" Goldman Sachs director, whilst he was in charge of the US Treasury. | tolstoi
29/7/2009 14:28 | tolstoi, Interesting description of business life in the Ukraine! ---------- "you stopped short on the description of the magisters relationship and how regal got it done" ---------- Sounds a bit sinister! | andy
29/7/2009 13:22 | bb4 wanna buy my shares? | turbotrader2
29/7/2009 09:41 | bb44, shame really. He was running around recently flouting his services for potential private equity projects in the CIS. I was literally just collecting data on an interesting Ukrainian producing licence to offer to Warrior Energy (amongst others), but it looks like that they are out of the picture. It wasn't me being naive - just last month, Warrior Energy was running around Ukrainian businessmen, looking for assets, so I found one, but it looks like Rowen had other plans. Now Ritson and Rowen look as though they are giving up on the idea of setting up their own oil companies. Big shame that such good characters have been lost to the Ukraine's oil industry. Especially Ritson, the guy was a legend and yet after leaving Regal, he refused to have anything to do with Ukraine. Aurelian was crazily gerontocratic last time I saw them. So Rowen would be a good man. Btw, do you know what is going on about Ferrexpo Petroleum? I know that they are recruiting, but sources on the ground say that they are still comatose in terms of their development programme. It was another company which I wanted to approach, but I can't even find their phone number. I could get to Ferrexpo Petroleum's founder (it used to be called "Atol") - Artemov, but I need to be in Ukraine to be able to do anything. | tolstoi
29/7/2009 07:34 | what is the answer then? | turbotrader2 |
