The futures price has bounced 15%.
This MIGHT indicate a bottom at $24.5 which would be a standard Elliot wave low point.

I actually think we will get a surprise. Everyone is expecting ASX to be the first piece of news but comments about frustrations with paperwork suggest the listing is taking longer than expected. Add to that comments about the Chilean government speeding up the process of granting licences and their desire to stimulate investment in the country and I think we will see production licences granted before the ASX listing. Both potentially before year end.

Nothing will happen to the price until there is something that makes the story more positive ie news. The next event is the OZ listing along with the fund raise included in that which gives some money to carry on for next year.

Size and scale brings with it economic benefits, the larger the resource gets the better. The advancements of the DLE tech will also help, any efficiencies will hit the bottom line of the project metrics.

I think the management here have been spot on. Many commentators suggested CTLs estimates of income based on a low lithium price were wrong but seems the management were spot on. A low lithium price benefits CTL though as DLE is relatively cheap and delivers product far more quickly than hard rock operations.

From today's Investor Meet presentation, nothing "new" of course but I was somewhat more positive on a few fronts.

Financing:-
Options include "Strategic partner", offtake agreements, ESG funds.
In particular Steve Kesler seemed confident that they could raise substantial money through a Strategic Investor (he mentioned in particular one of the German banks) due to the rapid payback of the two main projects. He suggested even 1billion wasn't out of the question. They do seem focused on minimising share dilution, not surprising since the board appear to own almost 20% of the company.
This will all kick off next year once they have Pilot plant output, Laguna Verda PFS and confidence that the operating licences are close.

Operating Licences:-
Steve claims that the Chilean government in consultations with mining companies and other bodies have accepted that the current processes are too slow. Aldo's current take is that with the new mining ministers in place and the new approach being adopted by the Chilean government that CTL, as one of the few companies with a sufficiently well advanced project, is in pole position to be a flagship for the DLE process.

ASX Listing:-
Again from Steve Kesler, he says that the ASX are haemorrhaging staff and that the delay is down to the amount of paper work and questions from the ASX and their slow response to CTL's answers.

Lithium price:-
The current price (sub $23,000) whilst heavily down on the year is in line with CTL's longer term assumptions. Both Aldo and Steve seemed relaxed about it. Are they Poker players?
For me this is the elephant in the room at the moment, well maybe for most of 2023. It is clear that there is plenty of Lithium production coming one stream, plenty of projects being developed and car manufacturers have plenty of stock, perhaps because they have purchased whilst subsidies were available, a situation which will unwind in the medium term. Against this is the assumed increases in EV production, which is recently being downplayed, particularly in China.
