am told you cannot borrow wtn in uk so cannot short normal settlement here, maybe sell in canada and arrange the borrow there...but it all starts getting quite complicated then for pi's then i suppose.

mikeja- good move, are you doing this through spread betting or physical. I would be interested to know for stop loss purposes on an arbitrage.

David, yes am doing arbitrage, buying CBM,selling WTN.Looks like a win win trade to me.Given historic background takeover looks very likely to go ahead.no takeover of WTN is possible w/out CBM approval and wld make their stake in WTN even more valuable.Even dropping terms to 1 for 2 wld push up Wtn so benefitting CBM.I am longer of CBM than I am short WTN.I just let the sellers come to me around 43p.

You beat me to it TBONE. WTN up 7 cents, so far, on TSE. Up 4.5p on LSE. CBM DOWN!! Well here's to CBM ending the day blue. HEAR, HEAR!!

KOOBA, Hogg stated last week on BNN that DD was continuing and that they are circa a month away from further updates on the merger.

He also said they wanted to expand, assuming through acquisitions from memory, so just can't see a buyout of WTN any time soon! But like GOCLOWN said, these guys act the circus but have agenda's, albeit unknown to us...

P1, it's HEAR HEAR... (Pleasure! Don't mention it PAP!)

Jublilee Plat (JLP) - breaking out - 40p would be the gap on the chart, 14p at the moment

Steeplejack: Byrne + Audley control what happens to CBM/WTN all us other shareholders are just sheep they will do what they like and when they like the only choice we have is to sell out and move on. But for me being a holder for many years I know how these guys work so nothing surprises me.

IMO I believe they are looking to grow to a big time producer in the coming years dont underestimate these guys even tho they do appear like they are in a circus act

You mean buying CBM and selling WTN.

Risky if the deal falls through.

papillon i admire your enthusiasm as a long term holder most of us have had that driven out of them!! will be so pleased to get this deal sorted...last heard was from hogg on webcast...early april...whatever.am now told this month but who knows with this conflicted shower.there is also still talk of someone coming in for wtn pre deal..which would sort cbm out financially but would still leave the management....bonus' all round.

GOWTN!! I thought numbers is one of your strong points???? PML!!!

Miscalc & Typo while half asleep and only 2 sips of coffee... Now, where's my pillow?!?!?!

EDIT: Now that i'm more with it ie awake, what i was trying to state was that CBM is trading at circa 50% to WTN... (forget the discount portion)... Goose!

30% Discount TBone not 50%. Until the merger is finalised the market will be in doubt if the deal will go ahead and as we all know CBM dont do things very fast so patience is the key should hear something this year lol !!!!!!!

Well, we're now trading at a 50% discount?!?!?! Has anyone got any pertinent information as to why? Yes, we've heard the obvious ie 2 for 1 but volume etc doesn't indicate anything concrete any way, either way... Bizarre! Imagine picking some up now and then the announcement of .75 for 1 - easy money!
