Former Manchester City star Dennis Tueart told BBC Radio 5 live that the Argentine's return had not surprised him, and insists the club's handling of the affair was "a message going out to the world of football that we are not a soft touch".

"Once the transfer window closed and he realised that the grass wasn't greener elsewhere and no-one else was prepared to pay the money, where else could he go?" said Tueart.

The former winger added that the fine form of City's strikeforce makes Tevez "fourth choice" and said "if Sergio Aguero keeps producing the goods he has all season, Tevez won't get a game".

"If he's introduced, he will be introduced off the bench and it will be interesting to see what his attitude will be if he's asked to resume warming up," said Tueart.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure admits he is considering quitting international football in order to help his club career.

The 28-year-old star has just returned from the African Cup of Nations, where he helped Ivory Coast to the final, where they lost on penalties to Zambia.

But having missed nearly six weeks of football for Manchester City, Toure admits he may not be willing to do that again.

"We will see whether I carry on," he told the Sunday Mirror.

"I have to think about what is best for me, for my club and for my country. I love playing for Ivory Coast so it is not an easy thing to think about.

"Maybe if we had won against Zambia things would have been easier for me. The disappointment is big at the moment so I will wait until I have a clear mind before deciding what to do.

"The African Nations is being played again next year and because we have lost the final it is an emotional time for us all.

"But a decision about playing for Ivory Coast has to be made. I will take my time and think about things, about what I will do.

"City are my club. I have a duty to them because I am a professional, but I also needed to play for my country.

"I did my duty, but I didn't like being away from my City at such an important stage of the season."

Toure was not allowed to play in the FA Cup against United, a game City lost and he admits that hurt him.

"I really wanted to play against United in the FA Cup but could not get permission to be there," he said.

"When I left we were in the two cups. When I came back we were out. I am happy that we are still first in the Premier League. That's the most important thing the aim is to stay there."

Nay lad, watching at home with the wife.
We seem to be taking the europa seriously so it should be a very good match as Porto never lose at home !
I hope Mario and Yaya play.
