Unfortunatly the price represents more the length of time we expect to wait rather than value for the odds here.
When you think that the price hit 78 when Indonesian partners bought in giving us initial finance to start the court case all those years ago !
We have actually never been closer but hey ho 5 weeks does not fit into a T20.
Those of us that have been here a while have witnessed it spiking and tanking and it can be very swift.
Lol mms take their bids off while they read and digest news or take their asks off and wait for a while if they think its good,and so the rally starts !
At the moment its the thought of 5 weeks but any whiff of good or disastrous news this will move a lot quicker !

If CHL win the forgery case and of course the share price goes up and then settles down again as you suggest, dont forget that the 'settled down'price is not indicative of the real share price. CHL shares move quickly on relatively low volumes and the daily share price is the price of the last trade. The last trade is not necessarily indicative of a price that everyone is willing to sell at and cannot be taken as a benchmark of share value if the majority of shareholders refuse to sell at this price, hence when this share is more heavily traded the price can rise very fast as serious volume buyers know they have to pay the price.

Rossamon regarding Roi letting the share price settle before making an offer IMO is ridiculous as the share price would be nowhere near the offer price and 10 or 20p difference in the share price will have no bearing whatsoever.

Should we have a clear win with no shades of grey I agree with Masarap
Reporters could add to the headlines about the offices being raided and computers stolen and of course the mysterious fire !

ROI will be guided more by the impact of headlines such as "ROI exposed as trying frame foreign company with ficticious forgery allegations" or 'The pitfalls of doing business with Indonesia' if the decision goes against them rather than analysing the CHL share price.

The hope is that ROI will not want to take the risk of such bad press given they have so many trade deals under negotiation that make CHL's claim small in comparison.

Before the election Prabowo was threatening Jokowi with disruptive tactics should he lose. Then both of them smiled and made up in a rather forced manner. Prabowo's faction including Isran Noor will be tagged with the blame if the decision does not go with ROI. He might want the Govt to do him a favour and settle to avoid that and who knwos what caused him to enter a sudden change of direction and form a fairly amicable truce with President widodo?

So there are two compelling strands that should make ROI want to settle - the Prabowo political affiliates who will fear being exposed as liars and frauds if CHL win the decision and President Widodo plus cabinet who will not adverse publicity that might damage much needed trade deals.

I think you mean support.

There is no such thing as "won't", everything is possible and we are in the May - St.Ledger Day selling period now, so some weakness is possible.

If it falls the dip is an opportunity, if you hold for the long term, it's not an issue nor a problem.

I think there will be many spread betting here, get the timing right and it could be a real winner.

'IF' it goes back to, say, 15p, then one could take out a position with no stop loss and have a maximum loss of 15 points, but an infinite potential upside.

I'd say those were good odds for a spread bet.

Some of us have been here a longtime and followed the last election with great excitment.
We had high hopes for Jokowi ,finally independant from the Regime.
Our excitemnt wore off as we saw he was continually backed into corners choosing his cabinet etc and saw how little chance he actually had to making a difference,

Any serious holders that have not been here so long should take the time to read The history of CHL in the header.

When you think,ROI is still full of the Regime and Suharto/Prawobo supporters I often wonder who speaks for ROI to ICSID ?

Perhaps that's one reason Joko would find it hard to settle with CHL? If he did Isran and others would just say he made a mistake and ROI were about to win. If he lets ICSID decide he can't be blamed for anything.. it was all before his time!

Unfortunatley he only narrowly won and had to make a coalition goverment.
He is treading on eggshells all the time trying to assert himself and his ideals tiptoeing around the old Regime..
Things may have been very different had he of won with a clear majority but he had to take a lot of people with opposing views to form a majority goverment
