23/1/2007 09:57 | Seems to be a statement that again demonstrates the effectiveness of management. Sales up 15%. Most parts of the business doing well. One part under pressure but under strategic review. The entire business now profitable at times. I was initially tempted to sell - but after re-reading and considering, the 12% markdown (+ transaction costs) I will sit and wait. Interims may well put some positive numbers on today's mixed messages. | spin doctor
23/1/2007 08:50 | JTCod - 9 Dec'06 - 15:59 - 200 of 249 Haba Given the rather sombre retail market, I'd say 14p normalised EPS should be a fairly safe minimum, provided there are no Christmas surprises. 16-17p could well be possible though imo. As ever all IMHO JT whats your opinion now jt? | steve133
23/1/2007 08:08 | yes we know they are having a bad time edmund but the possitives are coming back the company is turning the corner. i just highlighted the christmas section because of all the negitive posts on retail on the run up to it. | steve133

The Company made a pre-tax profit over this period compared with a loss for the same period last year, reflecting a strong performance by its Direct to Home and Local businesses. mm's moving the stock down before opening make you laugh dont they christmas was good anyway anyviews | steve133
19/1/2007 12:02 | Surprise jump in Christmas sales Retail sales experience a strong rise in December, comfounding expectations of a poor Xmas........... Sales experienced their biggest monthly increase since June 2005, rising 1.1% from November, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said...... | steveb3

18/1/2007 13:51 | Thats a bit of a leap Steve and if it is the case then they didn't research very well before buying to see where the bulk of CHUK's profits and sales come from. GT | goonertone
18/1/2007 13:41 | due to this no doubt: woolworths was confirmed as another retail christmas turkey yesterday afer its stores bore the brunt of a slump in the cd and dvd sales.christmas was very late and when it came it was not as big as people thought it was going to be said chief executive trevour bish jones | steve133

14/1/2007 19:57 | Yes I did average down M. Though I'm still down on the investment so far obviously. | jtcod
14/1/2007 16:25 | JTCod - 14 Jan'07 - 11:33 - 234 of 235: M Oh ye of little faith.;-) .................... Not really a question of faith. Both CHUK and AMU have been on my Watchlist for a few months but I've not been tempted to invest in either yet. Even the short lived pre-Christmas rally in AMU did not convince me to jump in (fortunately) and I'm still dubious about prospects in both. You must be out around around £15K on CHUK unless you averaged down on the November dip. | masurenguy
14/1/2007 12:01 | any demand on this stock we will get there rather quick i would think 2 or 3 days not months.trying to pick up stock but my broker says i have to pay a higher price and i dont like doing things like that! | steve133
14/1/2007 11:33 | M Oh ye of little faith.;-) | jtcod
14/1/2007 11:03 | "My 1 year share price forecast for HET is 150p and then possibly 240p two years out." Well it does not look like it will get to the first forecasted figure by April 24th this year ! I would have thought that the recent HMV and EMI Christmas figures do not augur well either. | masurenguy
