29/5/2012 09:15 | got a few more, TD trying to price at 24,5 p- anyone else seeing TD trying to extract this premium | jester jim
28/5/2012 14:53 | Tight stock, seems to move up with the buys recently coming in, with only 23m shares in issue does take much to get things moving. With East China injecting £5m in at 40p per share last year will be interesting to see what other projects they use the CAF wrapper for. Will come very much alive at some point. Just needs that net buying interest to continue. imho | fairdeal2008
23/5/2012 14:21 | Nicely Woody. | soulsauce
23/5/2012 14:21 | No woody - sold my shares soon after receipt. | unionhall
23/5/2012 14:17 | Hi soul. Tis a small world we inhabit! Thought I may as well add a few here as my free holding was so small. As Jim says, the cash in the bank makes it a relatively safe bet. | woodpeckers
23/5/2012 13:28 | I have my free shares from it's WTI links Woody ;-) Was going to buy more recently but missed the jump. However having a biggish holding of WTI is good enough. | soulsauce
23/5/2012 12:42 | This is starting to look like the AFF thread! Are you in unionhall? (didn't quite understand your last post - some sort of code?) | woodpeckers
23/5/2012 11:56 | I picked some of these up yesterday, they have been on my radar from a while. I personally think this is a a fantastic opportunity - they have been trading below cash, but have an excellent asset in Namibia. Also the WTI guys are behind them who are a credible management team. Because the Chinese own so much of the stock it seems to trade on thin volume. | jester jim
23/5/2012 09:50 | Couldn't resist buying a few this morning. Was given a few of these as a WTI divi and have had them on my watchlist as a result. Seems to be moving back up nicely. GLA. | woodpeckers
23/5/2012 08:46 | nice rise again | philmar089
22/5/2012 17:17 | It rose because the company is seemingly (well to me at least) an investment vehicle in the UK for the largest exploration outfit in China (East China Exp.), who invested £5mn at 40p last year, alongside the inject of a Namibian project by Weatherly (WTI). The expectation then was a solid move up in price and projects to be fed in by/with East China Exp.. Market conditions probably deferred that but one can speculate that the company may begin to get active at some point. And when they do it should have an impact. imho | fairdeal2008
22/5/2012 16:31 | thanks hardassets57 | philmar089
22/5/2012 16:17 | Yup, there has to be they have been listed a year in August at over 40p and its not good to come up to the half year mark (which will be in June) with nothing to say, even though the F/Y talks about all thats going on. so it could be any time, at any rate there should be something by June | hardassets57
22/5/2012 15:36 | lol is there any news due soon | philmar089
22/5/2012 15:30 | right now you can buy 100 on line max. thats a whole £31! Sell 100k rise is coz they were cheap and people, including me started buying this morning and I would very much like to buy more if someone would be so kind as to let the market have some stock. | hardassets57

09/3/2012 16:36 | Article from proactive sees it the same - "Zinc set to go sky high as supplies deplete in medium term":- | paleje
07/3/2012 09:53 | Snippet on Zinc, from Minmetals CFO . Bullish on zinc MMR took part in a joint zinc study with Hunan Nonferrous, which operates one of the biggest zinc smelters in the world. As the owner of the Century zinc mine, MMR is in a good position to understand the supply issues facing the industry in the medium/long term, and their conclusion is that over the next 5 years 10% of the current mine supply (c. 12.5-13mt) will disappear from the market. Many analysts and investors believe that as prices rise, the "mom & pop" zinc operations in China will ramp up to replace lost capacity; however, MMR believes that zinc smelters have become larger and more sophisticated, and need to have consistent feed in order to run efficiently. They may be able to blend in some swing capacity, but will not be able to rely on it as the basis for their operations. In the meantime, the only major with zinc operations is Xstrata as Anglo sold their assets to Vedanata (at a price that MMR was not willing to pay), and the industry has been through a period of tremendous under-investment. Even if a new mine were found today, it would take 5+ years to bring on-line. Presumably this is the same analysis driving Glencore and other trading houses to take such a bullish 2-3 year view on zinc, in spite of the massive amount of inventory (2mt?) and the fact that this story has been around for years... | oregano |
