Assume a large [yet unshown]buy has pushed these up? Would be nice if a director would also oblige. regards

The current drop isn't particularly unusual. Reading prices off a chart (so they may not be entirely accurate), it's from about 228p near the start of May to about 168p, a 26% drop.

Last year, it dropped from about 138p in April to about 108p in August, a 22% drop. And in 2005, it dropped from about 78p in March to 60p in June, a 23% drop.

None of this has stopped the share price rising very nicely over the last three years!

By the way, if anyone thinks they can see a "spring/summer fall" pattern in the above: I suppose so, but if you go back to 2004 and 2003, there's no very obvious continuation of the pattern. So I doubt that it's very reliable...

Chill out! These do look very cheap if they meet current expectations.
Good luck.

Well perhaps it was running ahead of its self at nearly 230, so take 15% off to 195, then we have a over shoot by the same amount, hey presto, we get 166, just where we are now.

still holding, dreggs

Bearish post on TMF yesterday can't have helped as many holding PIs found CFT through TMF postings.

Very small free float and easy to move the price with very small trades.

No announced bad news combined with the recent good interims and increased dividend (payable today actually) make this an increasingly tempting buying opportunity imo.

Perhaps its some Geordies that held both NRK and CFT shares now getting rather scared about the stockmarket and selling all their holdings :-)

The question is..why does a company with all the attributes as mentioned in post 597 NEED to recover, it should be nowhere near where it is today.

similar things have happened before to e.g. SFR, and they've recovered.

So no concerns with the 40p + share price drop in less than a month then ???

This is rather a different company to SMC or WNG thank you very much....

The company are on course for the eps forecast of 13.6p and then 15.4p in 2008 and that is very steady year on year growth. There is nearly 40p cash likely by the year end and so the enterprise value is very low indeed for a company with a huge and steadily growing order book.

I have high hopes for the company to get more than their fair share of the two aircraft carrier contracts as they are fed down to the smaller companies for the niche specialist work. That is nine years of work to go for and so the order book could rapidly escalate over the coming months and years....

Hope its not a sign of another profit warning disaster like SMC Group or WNG! I'm still holding on with many fingers crossed.
Good luck all.

Where will the bottom be for this dog of a mark down ?

If there is support at 160p I may be tempted back in if buying momentum returns, but these look very dangerous at present...and I ain't good at catching falling knives!

Picked up 3k at 166p, but not showing. No shortage of buys today apparently, but MMs don't want it. Got to be a steal at this price.

I like this company but am concerned about the margins which continue to erode. It is great to be adding all this business but are we making any money from the extra turnover ? Back out the exceptional from the interim results - not looking so great ?

These seem to be taking a bit of knocking since the results, but am sure they will come back and beyond the current levels. Would be nice to see a big long term contract with the new carriers. Worth holding to just for that alone.

Heavy hints in the excellent Interims from Chieftain that they expect to be amoung those to benefit from the MOD Aircraft Carrier orders...

Also can I bring to your attention another typically superb post from Carmensfella on TMF...
