13/3/2008 17:58 | Those two trades are almost certainly linked and agreed between buyer and seller so no problem there....the only other trade was a buy. | davidosh
13/3/2008 16:41 | 2 trades of 12k hope they don't know something we should? | veryniceperson
13/3/2008 12:12 | Little drift ahead of results? | matt
07/3/2008 18:27 | It also shows what is likely to happen to the share price if the company were ever to have some bad news to tell us....I doubt we would be able to sell many in that case either. Thankfully the story just builds and builds and the directors have been guiding us carefully with the forecasts and outlook statements. The next big move will most likely happen if they receive firm orders or contracts for the aircraft carrier work ....the sheer size there compared to the market cap will IMO be rather company transformational. | davidosh
07/3/2008 17:34 | Share price has shown remarkable resilience/strength over the last fortnight and still look extremely good value given the recent trading updates and potential contract news. It's also demonstrated just how illiquid the stock is when relatively small trades have such an effect on the price. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
06/3/2008 16:16 | Never seems much to move these. Only 8 million sahre out there and lot of those are taken up. | veryniceperson
06/3/2008 14:31 | Sure looks that way on another small purchase ... | matt
06/3/2008 10:16 | I wonder if the MMs are short. Up 4p on just 2500! | matt
06/3/2008 09:22 | oooooohhhhh | targatarga
05/3/2008 11:30 | We already know the results will be ahead of the original forecasts and probably ahead of current ones too....The directors sounded rather confident in their tone and we had two trading updates in two months which is rare. The aircraft carrier contracts if they come will be a bonus and are not factored into the order book whatsoever so rather like drilling for oil...the company already has sufficient reserves that are increasing in value ie. the order book BUT they are in with a very good chance of a huge find in the North Sea !! Not a perfect analogy but you get the drift ... | davidosh
05/3/2008 11:19 | Friday week I think. Sure some get a little peak before? | veryniceperson
05/3/2008 09:46 | Some life ahead of results? | matt
26/2/2008 15:11 | I have added a few too....there should be lots of newsflow in next three months....contracts hopefully that are awaited, finals which are well ahead as per RNS, updated forecasts and new broker/analyst note and then the AGM. The share price should not be below £2 still if there is good newsflow like that coming through....the results are scheduled for 18th March so not long to wait now. Has anyone heard anything locally about how things are going ? Any news from the shop floor ? | davidosh
21/2/2008 15:26 | Agree David....lovely trading updates with potential MoD orders the icing on the cake :-) Availed myself of a few. Excellent value IMO. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
20/2/2008 10:27 | Thanks Shanklin ....excellent news and could be good timing along with the final results and likely very positive outlook statement on 18th March. We already know that they are well ahead on earnings after the last two updates | davidosh
29/1/2008 10:17 | The Times today has the launching of a new (Astute class I think) submarine | jeff h
29/1/2008 09:36 | fez - ticked up slightly yesterday, wouldn't be surprised to see some delayed trades later... t | targatarga
29/1/2008 09:31 | Hi targatarga - looks like you were right - any clues as to why??? | fez
29/1/2008 09:12 | expecting to see some more action today..... regards | targatarga
27/1/2008 18:03 | Pre-close trading statement of 16th January 2008 states :- As a result of these and other contracts won, Chieftain finished 2007 with its strongest ever order book at around £65 million. Final results statement of 14th March 2007 states :- The Group is set to continue its expansion on all fronts in the current year and I am pleased to report that, as at 31 December, our order book stood at #68 million. Bit of a contradiction there. Hope things are not slowing down. | bent banana
27/1/2008 11:35 | Thanks to everyone who took the time to try and help with my problem. I have just been in touch with Orange again and they have now confirmed they are having problems with their servers and many users will not be able to access a number of websites/links. Their engineers are working on the problem and access should be available within the next 24hrs - just in time for the Monday market! | dixies
27/1/2008 10:09 | Well dixies, hope it doesn't sound as if I am telling you to suck eggs, but I can't help you with selftrade, but I have a online account with a good telephone contact, so you can trade by phone. I know there are plenty around, such as stocktrade, doesn't cost much more, and you can get them by phone to deal, which is good when you could easily want to trade in a larger amount than the market size. Also I recommend that it is a crest account so if the broker goes belly up, you will still be on the company records. dreggs | dreggspicker
26/1/2008 19:37 | Sorry to intrude, although I am a holder. Is anyone else having difficulty logging on to their selftrade account? Since Friday the link to log on does not work along with a number of other websites eg. Halifax.co.uk and FT.com. It is apparently only affecting those of us who have Orange as their service provider. Having contacted Orange throughout yesterday and today, they seem to be doing little to rectify the problem. | dixies
24/1/2008 16:52 | I have held for about four years.....this is not one to trade especially with a 3-5% spread. You just have to keep faith in the order book and the future potential contracts and relax with the short term volatility. The earnings growth is exceptionally good for a small engineering company and it is very well run by the management and directors. They are in the running for some very very big contracts so best to tuck them away and relax. The forward p/e of below ten and with the large net cash position allows you to relax more than in most situations in the market anyway. | davidosh |
