It's a risky one what with commons vote today and results out next week but with some positive news there could be a little more to come ?

Cant help but feel this merger news has come a little to early (for me anyway) as I personally hoped one of the big players would have taken an interest a couple of years down the line with a share price a lot higher than it is today ?

Logical move for both parties. The CCFS mgmt team are amongst the best in the market having successfully evolved theier model through the financial crisis. Wouldn’t surprise me if it led to other interest. With margins under massive pressure in mainstream lending, acquiring a business / lending book and team with a successful track record of success in specialist markets could be attractive. Suspect they’ll be forced to RNS on Monday. Feeling rather pleased with my purchase at 234!

Might not be to long until we start to see new highs again. Results out in a couple of weeks time so any positive news could see further gains.

Yes BTL, a lot of bad news written in the price. They are financially stable and ironically stock market losses are likely to mean more turn to BTL as a more stable investment IMO.

Apparently BTL lending has fallen off a cliff since September so the weakness of the next update is factored in. I like buying companies where you are buying on the expectation of bad news, rather than those that issue a shock profits warning.

Concerns about the specialist BTL lenders surviving a downturn, but these look particularly safe and not only is a lot priced in, but the downturn might not be around the corner.I am still watching and waiting.
