31/1/2016 13:20 | Character Options is reporting an out of this world start for the launch of its Clangers collection Just a week after the launch of the new Clangers toy collection, both in-store and online pre-sales have been huge and feedback from retailers has been exceptional, Character Options has revealed. The amount of fans flocking to stores to get their hands on the first pink characters has prompted many retailers to begin reordering immediately. “We are delighted to see our Clangers toys on shelf and the resulting consumer reaction to them,” said Jerry Healy, Character Options’ Marketing Director. “Sales in the first week have been incredibly strong and we expect to see even better numbers once the full range rolls out later this month. “The success is not entirely unexpected however, having seen all the work that Coolabi has put behind the launch of the TV series and the resulting level of viewing figures that has seen the Clangers reach the number one children’s spot in just a few weeks.” not sure when the above was reported. hopefully momentum on this and Teletubbies sales might start soon to have some impact on the current stationary share price. | squibno1

23/1/2016 23:08 | The directors would have to get a lot out of it, as they are well paid, in control and able to get options bought back at will, they are sitting pretty and doing well. the offer would have to be outstanding . | mcartdon
23/1/2016 10:09 | Interesting comment from Toy Industry - The Year Of Acquisitions – the toy industry is dominated by family run/family founded businesses, and sometimes for whatever reason the family decides to sell up and move on. If you look at the growth curves of both Hasbro & Mattel, they have been significantly influenced by acquisitions of brands/companies, but there are also other growth hungry companies with fairly large cheque books out there, we’re expecting to see several fairly large company sales as negotiations instigated around toy fair season grind through to completion in the summer. Would this be an opportune time for a predator to move on Character? | squibno1
22/1/2016 15:15 | The 6% increase in sales is behind the Allenby forecast of a 12% yearly increase in sales. In a note released today they re-affirm their targets in the belief that sales in H2 (which were very poor last year) will significantly improve as a result of Teletubbies. The profit forecast remains pretty much flat for 2016. | glaws2

22/1/2016 09:35 | So 6 % up excl new sales this year ie teletubbies etc. on a year thats 6m and 2-3m additional cash generation and growing already. so 15% additional profit not unlikely with teletubbies, we may be looking at 20%+ growth in profitability by end year. forward pe of 6-8. The cash position no debt is an opportunity, 4m free from past years unspent and 6m from this year giving 10m in bank over existing dividends? where's that going to be used it keeps rolling in, and it should be added value.as increased dividend acquisition of rights or buy back. character is definitely the go to company for new ideas and new distribution. Higher dollar lower pound lower materials lower Chinese currency, competition and over supply in manufacture, growing consumer market and spending on the nursery age group all indicate increased profitability. good week ahead for the shares | mcartdon
19/1/2016 11:19 | I am looking at positive sales and orders reporting of Telebuddies at the AGM. Also some large trades going through. More buybacks by CCT? | h1a3
19/1/2016 10:08 | With the possibility of a slightly stale product range ahead of the introduction of Clangers and Teletubbies sales then it may be possible that the revenue figures reported on the 22nd are likely to show disappointment. What then for a short bout of profit taking? | squibno1
19/1/2016 09:56 | Rob Guckian, of Smyths Toys Superstores, said: ‘The new toys looks fantastic and has really captured the essence of the iconic Teletubbies brand. ‘It will be great to finally get the stock onto our shelves next week so soon after Christmas and see the reaction of children in stores.’ What info on Teletubbies orders is likely on the 22nd? | squibno1

11/1/2016 10:21 | Will this news help or hinder the Character sales ? Coolabi Group has struck a new deal with Ty UK to develop a new range of plush based on the BAFTA award winning series, the Clangers. The new range of gift plush will be launched across the UK and Ireland from spring this year, following the successful launch of the rebooted series on CBeebies in 2015. Coolabi believes that the new plush range from Ty will sit neatly alongside the master toy range from UK manufacturer, Character Options. | squibno1

06/1/2016 21:58 | Character enter a busy period , dividend payment, annual meeting , Christmas trading update, toy show, continuing buybacks, Teletubbies toys on sale, new order period, new offers to market. plenty of stimulants to the share price which after last years performance is likely to continue its justifiable rise with cash generation continuing apace. | mcartdon
