22/11/2018 12:07 | New investor briefing: | gorsuch
21/11/2018 07:20 | Great now following @ASamatganova, our chess champ, and @chaaratzaav | 2pablo
20/11/2018 17:00 | Let’s hope so - feel CEY should be at least +25% higher, significant discount. Maybe Artem will come in with a bid. Very keen for the Fast Running Horse to re list - currently she looks a little lame. | oli12
20/11/2018 15:29 | Me too, and I'm fairly confident there's lots more to come for CEY. | casual47
20/11/2018 15:21 | Casual I am enjoying the CEY re rate - managed to get in a few weeks ago when it dropped back into the early 90’s. | oli12
20/11/2018 11:20 | As the bishop said to the pawn... | casual47
20/11/2018 11:18 | What's this chesswoman's Twitter handle then, I've never mated with her - lol ? | 2pablo
20/11/2018 10:07 | Check mate. Our strategy is playing out like a game of chess, let’s hope Artem is thinking many moves ahead. Looking forward to relocating - I remain nervous re raising the funds for the acquisition | oli12
20/11/2018 09:21 | Interesting factoid for fellow anoraks: chaarat sponsors chess in Kyrgyzstan and I have seen several chess people retweet Chaarat related news updates, including the three-times women's champion of Kyrgyzstan who seems a big fan of Chaarat - she retweeted nearly everything Chaarat related, which is kinda funny: her Twitter timeline is full of chess stuff with occasionally something about Chaarat in it. | casual47
20/11/2018 09:18 | A charm offensive on Chaarat in Local Kyrgyz press, detailing how beneficial to Kyrgyz Chaarat is and will be. | casual47
19/11/2018 14:58 | Another anti-centerra article on Kumtor: | casual47
19/11/2018 09:26 | Remember a gold mine is a hole in the ground with a liar standing over it | juju44
19/11/2018 06:47 | "Tulkubash is coming in as well or better than we'd hoped for" - if it's good enough for Dusty, it's good enough for me | 2pablo
18/11/2018 13:24 | Tulkubash 'just at the beginning of its growth story' - new interview with Dusty. | casual47
15/11/2018 10:34 | casual47, From my experience of gold miners, the focus tends to be on one initially but quickly moves to the others if this is part of the initial design. Having multiple pits from the off provides extraordinary flexibility and grade control - an enviable position to be in. | jc2706
15/11/2018 10:32 | Gorsuch, Touche! Yes, you are right. They have already proven themselves in this regard. | jc2706
15/11/2018 10:28 | JC - When you say (quite simply, a dereliction of their duties)don't forget, these are the same people who withheld a purchase offer of over 2 billion CAD for Centerra from their shareholders. | gorsuch
15/11/2018 09:42 | JC - yes, this goes back to the talk of it being a district. But to hear of a concrete second pit so soon is very good. I suppose it may not take long for them to get started on the second one after the first? | casual47
15/11/2018 09:39 | JC - would fishing expeditions really require full board discussion or sub-committee / exec only? | casual47
15/11/2018 09:36 | More noise about Kumtor! I wonder how real this Chinese sale is. Kyrgyzstan have representatives on the board of Centerra. Any serious discussions with a potential buyer of what is the premier asset would surely be discussed at board level thus informing the representatives and, ultimately, the Kyrgyzstan authorities. If this is not the case then either the representatives are not doing their allotted tasks (this would be very surprising) or Centerra executives are keeping this away from board discussion (which would be equally surprising and, quite simply, a dereliction of their duties). All of which suggests to me that this is either a very informal discussion and one of many (as Centerra suggests) or it does not exist at all. If it turns out that this is a serious option for Centerra and one that is being actioned then the Kyrgyzstan government would be justified in being very upset! | jc2706
15/11/2018 09:34 | Now where's the money Artem? Get that and we will believe | 2pablo
15/11/2018 09:31 | Talk of multiple pits is also encouraging..... | casual47
15/11/2018 09:29 | I would not get too excited about these releases. After all, it is suspended and there is absolutely nothing that we can do about it! The loan notes do appear to be a short term solution and the Kapan requirement seems as sensible a suggestion as any. What it does indicate is more of the 'on the fly' modus operandi of the executive team here. They are chancers and will live or die by it. So far they seem to be living so let's hope they keep it up. I am really surprised that it has been suggested that the drilling results have not indicated anything new. On the contrary, they have expanded the known mineralisation and come up with some interesting results (e.g. 7m @ 3.96g/t is excellent for this ore body). We know now that they have only managed two thirds of their planned drilling for the year which, whilst disappointing, is not massively surprising given the ambitious target. Let's hope that they will have all of their ducks lined up for next year's drilling campaign. As for the reserve statement, who knows where the one promised for October 2018 has gone. Clearly they are now targeting February 2019 and, presumably, they decided that either creating one now didn't add a lot of value (especially if they were going to do it again in the new year) or the drilling they had done did not provide them with sufficient information to meaningfully upgrade the reserves. I suspect that the latter is the case. Whilst they have not really kept us up to date on this, they have clearly had issues with the drilling and this has impacted the amount that they have managed to achieve. I presume that the subsequent drilling has targeted the relevant zones to enable them to update this now and there is wording in the release to suggest that this is the case: "Drilling since the last resource update has also added gold mineralisation within the existing resource footprint." "New, shallow mineralisation has been identified within the current pit design." Both of these things are likely to add towards the body of knowledge about the mineralisation and inform the reserve revision. | jc2706
15/11/2018 09:27 | More on this: Muhammedkaliy Abylgaziyev: We are not satisfied with the terms of the agreement with Centerra The prime minister said that next week the head of a gold mining company will arrive in Kyrgyzstan with whom negotiations will take place. | casual47
15/11/2018 08:59 | For those still following the Kumtor saga.....: Centerra execs to meet with the Kyrgyz PM | casual47 |
