Are we due a trading statement next week? I have not seen anything announced about this but last year there was one on 8th November.

Can’t believe I’ve got near my original price after it being so low. Its all heading for something a bit more fixed now.

the only worthwhile reasons why they aren't ultimately cancelled is if the company thought it had cause to issue shares in the identifiable future - such as to satisfy employee share options or consideration against previous or to be announced acquisitions. Anything else is simply a case of the company playing the market.

I think “intends”; means cancellation when administratively convenient - ie not every day but, say, end of a reporting period

My understanding of shares held in treasury is that they do not attract a dividend. The share buybacks should ultimately add value for investors as they are no longer shares "in issue". It is not politically expedient for Centrica to pay a huge dividend!

"Centrica also suffered because of a broker. This time it was Liberum, whose analysts reckon the recent rally in the British Gas owner’s share price, fuelled by increased buybacks and dividend growth, “has been overdone”, which dragged Centrica down 2p, or 1.1 per cent, to 166¼p."

Finally sold out at 173 yesterday

Had been holding since December 2017 and during the last 5 or so years had been buying every time it dipped

All the way down to 35
Had been selling on the way up but had hung on to initial purchase more in hope than expectation but enough is enough

Good luck to those remaining but I am out still with some hair left
