ohohDropping out the top tier will mean that all the investment funds that only track the FTSE100 will have to dump any of their holdings in CNA (if they hold any). Lots come out the top tier and they don't just disappear but it is regarded as a mark of business prestige to be in there.It's not exactly going to be something the BOD can brag about!.

Could dropping out of the FTSE 100 benefit the company or would it be harmful, being at the top with the potential for promotion might give it the impetus it needs.
