- Testing Results and Drilling Operations Update





Caspian Energy Inc ( the "Company" ), an oil and gas exploration
company operating in Kazakhstan, today announces that Aral Petroleum
Capital LLP ("Aral"), in which the Company holds a 50% indirect interest,
has completed the successful flow-testing of East Zhagabulak #301 in the
Zhagabulak Area in the southeast corner of the North Block.



The Company's first exploration well, EZ #301, reached a total depth of
4846 meters and encountered approximately 101 meters (331 feet) of net oil
pay in two intervals in Middle Carboniferous reservoirs. As announced on
9th February 2006, the lower interval, the primary target for the field and
the main producing horizon in the region, tested at rates of 2532 barrels
of oil per day (b/d) of 39 degrees API gravity oil, following acidizing.



Following testing of the lower zone, the upper zone, a secondary
reservoir target that is encountered sporadically in the region, was
subsequently acidized. The upper zone would not sustain flow rates adequate
to lift the large volume of fluid that had been used in the acid programme.
Therefore, the two zones are being produced simultaneously to allow the
lower zone to aid the upper zone in lifting its fluid. Commingled,
production logs were run, and indicated that the upper zone is producing at
100 b/d. The well is currently flowing to the field production facility.
Both zones will be considered for further acid stimulation at a later date.



The current drilling well, EZ #302, is coring the Middle Carboniferous
at 4533 meters and is expected to reach total depth before the end of
March.



A third exploration location has been selected, EZ #303 which will be
about 5.2 km southwest of EZ #302, the drilling rig that is on EZ #302 will
move to this location, after the completion of the current well. Total
depth is expected to be about 4950 meters. The well is programmed to start
in April.

Secondary zone tested on EZ-301. Nothing much to add as expected, another 100 bopd. Still, compared to other nearby fields and well production rates, EZ-301 is a gusher. EZ-302 results to come soon.

LukOil acquires remaining part of Chaparral Resources, who operate the Karakuduk Oil Field in Kazakhstan (produces approx 12,000 bopd):



....a cost of acquired proved oil reserves of US$8.10 per barrel.

Of course, CEK still have to prove their reserves up, but with an estimated 187 mmbbls recoverable at East Zhagabulak and 259 mmbbls recoverable at Baktygaryn, shows potential down the line.
