What do you think I've lied about ? How absolutely dare you. I've had no position - neither long nor short in CBOX - for many months until I bought this morning because of the heavy buying on Friday. The RNS of the stake build by the bidder makes me believe a good bid is coming. How do you sleep at night with your vile mouth?

There are sadly some extremely shameless liars and morally corrupt people in this world. How do you sleep at night levinson?

They need 5% to call a GM. They didn't push out a further £275k to get to that level, why not?.IMO they are just buying in below their offer price, doesn't suggest to me with such a large free float and a relatively small holding (and purposely below 5%?) that they want to acquire it, perhaps they do want some influence as a major holder though, who knows.

So what do we think River Capital's short term angle is?

My head is usually more in the order books than elsewhere, but I think it is 5% to requisition a meeting and 25% for a blocking stake. If they want to put forward someone on the board or change something, surely they're not going to have influence with such a small stake.

Maybe they are or will get in bed with others but it doesn't look like it. It looks like a solo mission, especially considering they wanted the whole company for themselves at 160p.

If they're worried about someone else buying in here, maybe they keep buying in the market?

Judging by today's trading action, it looks like they are in the market for more, adding to their stake so the holding rns disclosures will be interesting to watch. Currently, it looks like a bid is in the market at 160p so maybe they are going to sit there and mop up what they can.

I don't know the exact price mechanics, but I'm really intrigued to see what happens here. It looks like 160p is a floor here and then it will depend on their next move and the festive period of trading.

River Capital have moved this price about 10% just to pick up that stake. That is in a horrendously bad market for smaller caps where we have seen layer upon layer of stubborn sellers. In a different market, this goes screaming north on that stake building.

But if they sit at 160p, exhaust the sellers to get what they can, if they then want more, they're gonna have to clearly get on the phone and bid this up. I don't know if they will want at least a double digit stake, in which case surely they will have to bid a fair bit higher in the market here.

Maybe they grab what they can at their perceived value levels around this price point and higher and then make a formal offer?

I don't know for sure, but this will be one of the more interesting announcements for this month.

All imo

You can't deramp or ramp if you have no position. Only gave my views. But I do agree it looks like the previous bidder will be back at a higher level given today's announcement of its stake building .What do you reckon - 220p per share ?

River Capital want some seats on the board. Makes a new offer easier to push through. They must really like the company.

Passed 2 of their shops today. Both empty.

Mind, it was 5am.

Returned later, some Aussie was asking if they make upside cakes. Said was planning a celebration, most odd.

Just bought 2 lots of 50,000. First position I've had in this stick for a very long time. My guess is that all the buying cannot be for no reason

You've convinced me. Have therefore just bought 50,000 at £1.63 and 50,000 at £1.64 !! I'm sure the market makers will only show it later so that it looks like a sale

Has this been tipped? Someone on X, Telegram, some other chat site or wherever folk congregate nowadays with influencers with thousands of followers?

Stream of buys coming in. I'm just in for a trade, but the way they were buying big last week, and mopping up everything in the auctions (including today) was unusual for something as quiet as CBOX.

Don't know if there is some rumour out there or maybe just a normal re-rating/breakout type of move.

Rarely catch a takeover. Too much nipping and out for that to happen.

Just a tad curious.

Hate how the other posters are trying to pump these shares. The CBOX shops I saw over the weekend were all empty . A bad Christmas trading update and these will be back under £1 Read that people cutting back on Christmas puddings this year; so you'd expect them to certainly be cutting back on £35 cakes in these difficult economic times !!!!! It's so obvious

You won't see £1 unless the festive trading is absolutely dire. The update recently suggests they are confident, but we can never be sure in this environment - it is a tough ole slog. Low growth and normalised higher rate environment for the foreseeable future likely means muted bullishness or at least that is what most of the smaller caps continue to price in. Hopefully it does change soon.

That said, someone appears to be sure there is value here because they are coming for decent chunks:

774k picked up at 146.5p
280k picked up at 146.5p

That is about 2.6% picked up in a very tightly held share.

Clearly sellers in size sat there so no imbalance in supply/demand to cause a price move as yet, but watching to see if they do keep coming in for a possible short term trade.

Just typing this as I go along, but it looks like Crux were selling down with about 1m to go and Canaccord halved their holding down to 2m in late July

Schroders buying and a luxembourg entity...dont know who they are...but they were adding.

Three market makers still sat firmly on the offer so looks like more to be sold but one has shifted higher to 145p on the bid.

Just wondering if they are any more delayed or big chunks to follow to suggest a clearout for a pop higher.

It looks like the value here is backed by the 160p approach and current trading being fine. Maybe the buying from stale bulls here suggests another bid coming too?

Anywho, worth a watch

All imo

UPDATE:13:54 Just a little trickle of buys noting the buyers in size here. Market makers are shifting higher. In for a trade at 148p to see if there is momentum here
