Hi CWA1, there has been a big seller around for some weeks now, but support started to emerge recently, I have been building a position, they scream value to me. I guess there could be further weakness when fears of cheap meat imports are talked about leading to a drop off in sales of animal feeds, but I will then be back for more again.

Just taken a few at 138p, first time I've been in here for a while, hoping that the read across from WYN will indeed bear out. I also believe it is reasonable value at these levels regardless. Fingers crossed and good fortune to one and all

Haha Somethingsup, it depends on your definition of soon. Maybe by 2025. These shares peaked at around 180p, £18 in old money. I think anywhere near 180p there would be a wave of selling.

Pleased to see the improving trend,the engineering division is not quite as illogical as it seems.It has grown out of Bendalls involvement in the Nuclear plant at Sellafield.We might get a good price but Carr's Billington business has fairly modest growth prospects;interestingly all three listed agriculural businesses Carr's,Wynnstay,NWF cover in part the same area(I'm a shareholder in all three,and meet their trucks on a regular basis on narrow lanes here in South Lakes!)so the prospects of expansion are limited unless we move further into Scotland.On the subject of IC Mr Bearbull's value portfolio bought Carr's shortly before Covid,so will no doubt comment.The US/UK animal suppliments business is also undervalued.

Yes, hope his plan is to see Engineering back to a profitable and upward trajectory and then sell it off. Plenty of prospective owners at the right price - Avingtrans for one. As it stands prospective investors are put off by the illogical mini-conglomerate nature of Carrs; sorting it would add value.
