Carclo, accident prone as always!

Disappointing that the board did not put much room in the forecasts for 'marginal' changes in profit resulting from changes in large project starts.

Would have been much better to underpromise and overdeliver for a change.

I look forward to the interims with great interest,

cheers

Yes it's obviously a profit warning for the full year but the market reaction has been is well overdone... it's already on the way back up... a great short term buying opportunity!

Have to agree MrA -read it several times as well. Think Carclo's broker needs to step up to the plate and get some buyers for this.........

Bit of an over-reaction in my opinion. Profits well up on last year, new production lines, etc can't be bad.

and next year interest rates could rise, which could lead to higher employment costs for CAR

Increased debt - profit to be "marginally" ( any guess as to what this could imply percentage wise)below expectations

Very much a profit warning and a blow to investor expectations - Market seems to be recovering after earier mark down BUT emerging market weakness could (imo) impact on both china and India performance

it did read as a statement they'd prepared before the VW news that they then did their best with to limit damage (unsuccessfully)

hefty drop on a 'marginally below' statement but I guess the market is looking beyond this year

minor point miti - results are next month

CAR supply premium brand cars which sell for at least £100,000 each upwards - not the mass market.

That's why they're so well respected.

I suspect that anyone paying that much for Bentleys, Audis etc won't be particularly bothered!

Similarly, a "marginal" miss against expectations, on a short-term delay and when CAR isn't particularly highly rated anyway, shouldn't really affect anything much.

Decent trading update overall, with H1 nicely in line, and the year as a whole "marginally" affected by a slippage in one LED contract, so EPS is likely to be say 9p to 9.5p as opposed to 10p.

In TP, Bangalore is doubling in size and China moving fast, which shows the extent of CAR's potential and ambition.

LEDs have secured a new major customer to offset the small VW slippage, and CDS is progressing nicely and in the share price for free.

Overall the group is progressing well.

The half year trading update has been on 10th October for the last two years, so next Monday or Tuesday is looking perfectly timed.

With the two core divisions performing extremely well per the AGM update I'm hopeful it'll be good news.
