Congratulations on the win Jeffian! Must be a good feeling. After no detailed research whatsoever I predict CPC will settle down this time next year at about 1.90p

"...opposite the Royal Courts of Justice in London which is frequented normally by high-rolling lawyers celebrating a win in court (or drowning their sorrows)"

It's funny you should say that. I'm not a high-rolling lawyer but a client and the only time I have ever drunk brandy at 10am was in exactly those circumstances. (We won).

This company owns some high quality pubs and bars eg Daly's wine bar opposite the Royal Courts of Justice in London which is frequented normally by high-rolling lawyers celebrating a win in court (or drowning their sorrows). So the value of the asset backing is high and the share price should increase rapidly as lock-down fades away.

City Pub Group raring to go as re-opening date gets nearer, says chairman Clive Watson
28 May 2020
Clive Watson, executive chairman at The City Pub Company (LON:CPC) says the group is 'raring to go' as the time pubs are allowed to re-open in the UK again gets nearer.
Around 40 of its 47 pubs have what Watson describes as very good beer gardens and it is these type of outlets that are expected to be allowed to open first when restrictions are lifted.

Indications from the government are that this will be in July but it might be earlier and Watson says City Pub will start to bring staff out of furlough in two weeks to prepare and make sure it is 'match-fit'.

Everything will be geared towards safety with social distancing, limited menus, pre-ordering of drinks and table, food in recyclable boxes and an app to enables everything to be done in advance.

There is huge pent-up demand from people who just want to go to the pub have a decent pint and some traditional pub food, he adds.

It is!Missed getting in here around 75 and it's gradually been climbing. Will see if it breaks and holds above 87, hopefully will pull back a bit.

Very quiet here, even with signs of pub activity re-starting...

Not even the slightest crumb of comfort from BOD.

From this piece:

“The government have stated quite clearly that their ‘stretched‘ scenario is based on 1 in 5 or 20 per cent of the workforce being infected. This conflicts with a Downing Street ‘Battle-Plan” report that warns up to 80 per cent of the population could get infected.”

That’s got to hurt the pub trade.

Sitting in the Old Ticket Office in Cambridge and the place is rammed on Wed at 5pm. What a great location and their house IPA is pretty good too! Nice to know I am getting a piece of this business as I sip on my pint! 🙂
