I'm sure many of us have read the problem with old iPhones being slowed down to conserve daily battery life. What I didn't know is that some iPhones had shut completely when still having 30% or more of their daily battery life available.

This article explains that as phone batteries age, not only do they hold less charge, they also lose the ability to output maximum voltage at one time.:

The problem of daily battery life and coping with the problem high voltage needs of apps on lithium batteries must apply to all smartphone manufacturersand not just Apple.

Is this why Murata extended its licence with Cap-XX to include combination of thinline supercapacitors with small batteries? The licence covers batteries up to the size of those used in smartphones?

If so, the smartphone industry is very, very fast moving as companies seek that competitive edge and this could be an interesting year for Cap-XX.

If you look back twelve mths virtually to the day, we were all crowing 5p
we are now up 176% and 231% early Sept, we've done well on no significant news..
