24/5/2008 12:06 | Yes, thanks again Henry. I've not traded intraday before, but am interested in the possibility of it becasue it would fit in well around my working life, I just have random days at home, so would be like to day trade on those and not have to worry about open positions when I'm out working. Obviously I'll also have some longer term stuff but want to get away from the trades lasting a few days if possible. By the way, the email address I left you is my "junk mail" address - once I received your email, I'll send you my "real" one.... | mach21

23/5/2008 17:08 | This thread not been used for some time so thought it might be a good place start chat on intraday CCI trading strategy. The strategy is well proven and known by others on "the other thread" but will not be publisised in any detail on this thread. I gave my strategy away to a few others in order that we may bounce a few ideas off each other to see if we can improve/fine tune our strategy and emotional difficulties with trading it. Chat has helped me by making me put on paper exactly what I am doing and why I am doing it. That alone has made me realise where improvements could be made such as recently adding dema/tema. I would prefer that we don't put up charts showing strategy settings on this thread. Other than that I am happy to give any help and recieve any ideas. | henryatkin
29/5/2006 14:28 | CCI came up as question on a stock thread. But because it might be of interest beyond that particular setting I figured it might be better to give it a thread of its own (there was a previous fbb thread on CCI several years ago but with no detail in header). | m.t.glass
29/5/2006 14:27 | The Commodity Channel Index is an indicator designed for use in markets that follow definite cyclical patterns. While the CCI does not determine cycle lengths, if you have an idea of cycle length, the CCI can be a valuable timing tool. (These five links are broadly similar in describing CCI, but differ in detail of how and when it might be used) CCI/MA Crossovers are available as an indicator on advfn's live streaming charts | m.t.glass
29/5/2006 13:54 | stcokcharts and futuresource have it for FTSE index. futuresource should have it for individual uk stocks too, but I haven't checked. Here's the daily chart from each of them:- Stockcharts.com Futuresource.com | mkearns

16/10/2002 12:14 | still trying to find any uk chart supplier that shows this indicator , it works well on USA s+p markets , need to try it on the ftse index ....thanks | merlinstheman
15/10/2002 23:15 | This might be a good inflation indicator (RPI,CPI complete rubbish because the government strips out relevant data to suite their inflationist policies - If deflation becomes a real issue I guess they'll start adding elements to point the indexes to an alternative bias) - I think this index might make a better guide for the direction of interest rates than day trading. | witteklip
15/10/2002 23:10 | Where can I find a chart? | witteklip
12/10/2002 17:22 | does anyone use this indicator to trade stocks or indexes on daytrading please, and do you know where i can get these cci indicators for uk charts ? thanks a lot. Just realised put it as index on thread , should of course be indicator!. | merlinstheman |
