05/11/2015 14:29 | The RNS this morning indicates that RedT estimates that the size of the "market for storing PV generation associated with building development, in the UK and Ireland", (MARKET), is in excess of 3 GWh. My understanding is that there are 1,000,000KWhs in 1GWh Accordingly if the market was served by 40KWh Energy Storage Systems only, then 75,000 would be required. If 240Kwh systems were used also - then the number of ESSs would be reduced according to the mix. It should be noted that the MARKET refers only to "storing PV generation associated with building development in the UK and Ireland" and that other applications, eg grid / renewables etc. will increase the overall UK & Irish markets for Energy Storage. Thereafter the same opportunity as exists in the UK & Ireland will be available worldwide, with due regard to target areas such as Africa. It is understood that companies other than REDT will offer strong competition - however there does appear to be competative advantage in the vanadium redox solution. Apologies if I have ramble on. Hopefully my calculation is correct - but would appreciate any feedback either way. Camco Clean Energy PLC Redt Energy New Contract in Ireland | ![]() tullynessle
05/11/2015 14:10 | Inovgrid, a smart vision for a next generation distribution system Smart Grids are spreading steadily and becoming one of the cornerstones for utilities transformation. Today the world is facing complex challenges in the energy sector, and utilities have a central role in bringing innovative solutions not only to shape their businesses but also to foster the development of an adequate ecosystem where new ideas can flourish. 05/11/2015 14:08 | Smart grids have been the central theme of the Symposium held in Évora, Portugal’s first city to receive a smart grid. For two days, 125 scientists and experts from around the world discussed the most important topics of the energy revolution: microgeneration, microgrids and electric mobility. The 8th Edition of the Symposium on microgrids – promoted by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy– was organised by INESC Porto, with the support of the EDP and the EFACEC. | ![]() dlg3
05/11/2015 13:42 | The page below appears at the REDT website and contains the word "blog" in the link. There appears to be elucidation in the page additional to that which appeared in the RNS. Tne entire document is interesting.... Extract 1: "..... ESB Networks will be on site to offer advice, and are very interested in both the implementation process, and the outcome of this demonstration micro grid." Extract 2: "The project has received support under SEAI’s RD&D (Research, Development and Demonstration) Programme. SEAI's mission is to play a leading role in transforming Ireland into a society based on sustainable energy structures, technologies and practices." [SEAI = Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland] Extract 3: "The results of the micro grid will be monitored by the GREAT Project team and publicised throughout the GREAT Project’s European Partner network. It is expected that this demonstration will become a reference site for the commercialisation of building integrated PV and REDT’s liquid energy storage technology across a wide range of applications and scales." Extract 4: "REDT’s vanadium flow battery is a unique storage technology as it provides one of the lowest available levelised cost of energy storage over the life of the system." Extract 5: "Once installed, this installation will become a showcase for the deployment of vanadium energy storage in this sector." Extract 6: "REDT estimates that the size of the market for storing PV generation associated with building development is in excess of 3 GWh in the UK and Ireland." REDT Energy contracts with Údarás Na Gaeltachta and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to implement an REDT vanadium energy storage system. Published on 5th November 2015 REDT Energy contracts with Údarás Na Gaeltachta and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to implement an REDT vanadium energy storage system. This storage system will support a renewable building with solar PV generation and Smart Electrical Storage Heating (SETS) at the Údarás Na Gaeltachta Enterprise Centre in Aughleam, Belmullet, Co. Mayo. Continued....... | ![]() tullynessle

05/11/2015 13:21 | I suspect that the same question, (apparent doubts), arises from review of most of the companies on AIM and the LSE. Those who invested in Miners and Oil have lived with total optimism thru total pessimism - basically a moving target. Personally,my investment in CCE is based on the quality of management and the drivers that apply from the movement out of fossil fuel energy into renewables - along with significant amounts of national, international and industry research - including the best of the BB's. My enthusism is fine - not at all dampened. | ![]() tullynessle
