20/1/2023 08:02 | Spirent figures are pretty much in line.Sees increased biase towards second half as customers finesse orders in tough climate. "Networks are becoming more complex than ever before and as customers seek faster, more reliable, more secure connectivity solutions, the heightened need for automated testing and assurance will require greater support from Spirent. We expect the Group to continue to progress in 2023, and in spite of the global economic conditions are confident in our mid-term targets with the long-term structural growth drivers for our business continuing to be compelling." | steeplejack
19/1/2023 15:02 | rivaldo, Do you know how many shares the PDMRs held before/on Admission? From the Admission Document we have: Thus I now have the following results: .PDMR .............. Shares Gerald Kirk ...... -371,226 Jeff Wright ...... -426,451 Anand Ram ...... -2,312,888 | piedro
19/1/2023 12:45 | No TA but it's RSI was overbought following a golden cross on 6th Jan, so no real surprise some profit taking but never nice to see. Will see if it drops to 180. | disc0dave45
19/1/2023 11:55 | Indeed. In October '21 the same guy sold 170,000 shares at 124p, so perhaps not indicative of too much. Perhaps more interesting is that it has to be an institutional buyer or two who are quite happy to snap up £897,000 of shares at 194.9p. There's been a few instances of PDMR top-slicing now. Hardly surprising given the almso 300% rise since IPO. All indicators for CLX's business activities apparently remain extremely bullish, but it's worth keeping an eye out for any changes/issues. | rivaldo
19/1/2023 10:35 | Another VP selling a chunk. | disc0dave45
17/1/2023 08:09 | It looks like a good move. Clearly her predecessor has had a big influence on the company from the start, but maybe the time is right for a change, now that the business is well established. On the face of it, Helen Kelisky has an impressive CV and looks like an excellent choice. red | redartbmud
17/1/2023 08:05 | Powerful words about the new NED but bearing an equally powerful sub-text about CLX and its aims! Good news indeed. | hew
17/1/2023 07:28 | That's an extremely impressive new NED appointment as CLX look to "exploit the growth in the testing market, with the need for greater efficiency and performance in data centre operations": "Helen Kelisky brings over 30 years' of technology sales leadership experience and a track record of driving top line growth, leading national and international businesses. Helen is currently Managing Director of Google Cloud in the UK and Ireland, responsible for leading its sales strategy and go-to-market sales operations. Previous roles include Board member and Vice President of cloud sales at Salesforce UKI, and Vice President of Cloud at IBM, where she spearheaded the $1 billion+ business for cloud services and software Sales and Delivery." "Stephen Davidson, Non-Executive Chairman of Calnex, commented: "We are excited to welcome Helen to the Board. Her experience across the cloud and data centre world will undoubtedly be of immense value to Calnex as we exploit the growth in the testing market, with the need for greater efficiency and performance in data centre operations." | rivaldo
15/1/2023 15:34 | Cook sold £1.6m worth in June but still holds a decent 20%, just top slicing so no problem IMO.Their iTrinegy acquisition was a very cute purchase and should generate a decent amount of income for them over the next few years IMO. Hopefully following the issues at Ubisoft, in terms of slashing their forecasts and their constant release date delays, that the Ne-One emulator will help them to reduce such issues going forwards. Also like the synergy's and growth potential for cloud based software applications too........I'm also looking at CER which has also hit the sweet spot with telecoms income and growth.Https://youtu | disc0dave45

13/1/2023 17:12 | Great end to the week. | hastings
13/1/2023 16:49 | RSI in overbought territory at the moment following golden cross 6th Jan.Do like the sector and held SPT for a few years but basically lost patience with the lack of any momentum.Has a meaty rating but seems justified IMO. | disc0dave45
13/1/2023 12:40 | Thanks for your comment. It is re asssuring to see someone else feels the same! | gerihatrick
13/1/2023 10:12 | Hi gerihatrick. Like you, I also thought of adding some SPT. But SPT is a £1.7 billion m/cap behemoth - ten times the size of CLX. The old saying is that "elephants don't gallop", so I concluded that CLX may have a lot further to go and more quickly than SPT. Especially as I trust TC, whereas I don't know SPT's management. Plus, being so large, there are more moving parts to SPT which could go wrong, whereas CLX is easier to follow and research. | rivaldo
13/1/2023 08:32 | Creeping up towards breaking the 200p barrier! 🤞 😎 | masurenguy
13/1/2023 07:46 | Snap! I also read the article. My only question I have asked myself is whether I should buy Spirent when I already am fully loaded on Calnex. Am I just duplicating the same message? I also feel that the CLX growth in share price has been more rapid than at Spirent. Any thougths appreciated. | gerihatrick
13/1/2023 07:17 | The new issue of Shares Magazine has a feature on Spirent - but you could easily replace the word Spirent with Calnex :o)) "Many smartphone users will have access to 5G next generation mobile networks, particularly if you’re in one of the UK’s cities. This shows up as a 5G symbol in your notifications bar and you should notice faster streaming of music or video, for example. Yet we remain years away from 5G delivering fully on its long-term potential and testing group Spirent (SPT) is one of the best ways to invest in what is increasingly being seen as a structural technological shift. 5G promises exponentially faster mobile download and upload speeds, much greater bandwidth to send the explosion of data volumes, and latency (time lag) all but eradicated. It will help enable self-driving cars in the future, robotic medical procedures performed by surgeons miles away from the patient and countless other consumer, industrial and security/military applications. Analysts estimate barely 30% of all telecom network operators globally have deployed initial 5G networks, and only 3% have deployed the first of many major technology upgrades. As one analyst told Shares, because 5G networks are built on software from multiple vendors and dispersed across several owned and third-party sites, the job of testing and providing assurance of components and entire networks is ‘never finished’. 5G will become increasingly mission critical to how consumers, industry and governments operate, and Spirent has spent years earning its reputation as a trusted technology testing services supplier. This is a company with a global engineering and operational footprint of the highest possible standard." | rivaldo

30/12/2022 11:04 | New article posted by CLX about synchronization technologies evolving for 5G and beyond, in an interview given by CLX with the International Telecommunication Union. The ITU are the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies: "ITU Interviews: Synchronization technologies evolving for 5G and beyond Precise timekeeping is fundamental to effective telecommunications network operation. It is more important than ever in 5G and will be even more so in future mobile networks, with new radio technologies and network architectures arising to support increasingly demanding use cases, such as time-sensitive networking for automated vehicles or controlling robots in smart factories. The group’s Rapporteur and Associate Rapporteur spoke to ITU News about how ITU standardization work meets evolving synchronization demands. “Both radio access networks (RANs) and transport networks require synchronization, often in combination, and always aiming for a good balance of timing accuracy, availability, and cost,” highlights Stefano Ruffini from Calnex Solutions, Q13/15 Rapporteur. etc" | rivaldo
21/12/2022 08:18 | There is no doubt that despite the current economic climate, the 5G rollout will continue unabated. That should underpin Clx revenues and profits. If margins aren't eroded too much by inflation, the company should do very well over the mediun to longer term. So far they have made the right calls. red | redartbmud
21/12/2022 01:00 | 5G connections are expected to increase by nearly 1000%, from 500m in 2021 to 4.8bn by 2027. Proactive Investors. | masurenguy
13/12/2022 12:30 | Good find. Interesting that the government is thinking about 6G. At present 5G is still WIP and as the article states, 3G & 4G remains patchy. They still haven't rolled out the infrastructure to service the demand in all areas of the country for yesterday's technology! It is understandable, in that the returns from areas of small population the service doesn't generate a lot of revenue, hence connectivity in centers of mass population is much better. The incentive is to chase the latter and pay lip service to the former - until the telecoms regulator decides otherwise. red | redartbmud
13/12/2022 11:37 | Noticed this interesting snippet today - the Government are to invest £110m in 5G and 6G. The £80m for a state-of-the-art UK Telecoms Lab to test resilience etc and the acceleration of the deployment of ORAN should both be good news for CLX as the market leader: "Tuesday 13 December 2022 UK Government to invest £110m in 5G/6G Research and development on next-generation 5G and 6G wireless technology is to be ramped up as part of a £110m government investment. In the package, three UK universities, University of York, University of Bristol and University of Surrey, will receive a share of £28m to team up with major telecoms companies including Nokia, Ericsson and Samsung to design and build networks of the future such as 6G. The move follows Ericsson and Samsung’s recent decision to set up 6G research centres in the UK. The aim of the investment is to ensure future network technologies, including 6G, are designed in a way that promotes a more diverse and innovative telecoms market, and brings an end to current network setups where all equipment within a network must be from a single supplier. The package includes £80m for a state-of-the-art UK Telecoms Lab being built in Solihull in the West Midlands. The facility will be run by the National Physical Laboratory, to research and test the security, resilience and performance of 5G and 6G network technology. It will also create dozens of specialised jobs in telecoms and cyber security for the region. Also announced was a new R&D partnership with the Republic of Korea which aims to accelerate the deployment of Open RAN. The £3m project (including £1.2m from UK Gov), will focus on the power efficiency of emerging technical equipment, one of the technologies main obstacles. 5G and 6G technologies will be crucial for both the future of national infrastructure and in enabling a wide variety of other technologies from automated cars to remote healthcare. However, while it is good to see such investment, the existing infrastructure needs just as much focus. 3G/4G coverage is still patchy, especially in rural areas, and UK fibre connectivity also varies widely. If we can first establish a strong base level of connectivity across the UK it will make it much easier to roll out more advanced technology down the line." | rivaldo |
