Posted at 01/5/2010 07:58 by grahamg8 Eurovision, nice to see a thread header but unfortunately no one interested enough to post. On 3 August 2009 the adjusted NAV was 80.1pps compared with todays share price of 17p. So on the face of it BLD is hugely undervalued. But allow a discount for a small company, property, Eastern Europe, majority of shares held by the Directors who want to take it private then the attractions are rather less. Provisional offer, later withdrawn, to take out investors at 30p seemed pretty mean at the time. Dump the shares and move on, or hold/build and keep fingers crossed that value will out in the end? A difficult decision. |
Posted at 27/8/2002 07:49 by pugugly After todays Chapter 11 filing could be terminal - Look at guarantees given by parent against curret market value - Could the family possibly taek it private again but at what price? Any views? |
Posted at 25/6/2002 12:33 by jonc I have just started building two house one for my own occupation. It is all a bit hairaising (not being a builder)and you need to keep in control. For example when the engineer set out the position of the houses he was 12feet out and I had to make him do ut again. I would be happy to share some of the costings with interested posters but probably not on the BB. |

Posted at 17/4/2002 14:09 by beerveg BLD: Dont know much about this business, but at a quick glance it does seem a possible bet. At £6m mkt cap its nearly priced for collapse - if it does turn round upside must be substantial. I would reckon at 20p, its either 0p or 80p+ in a years time. so 4-1 returns if u think the odds are 50/50 on survival. |
Posted at 16/1/2002 13:58 by krenig The move into the States was a costly one. The UK's operation was keeping it going. that has been sorted by all accounts. With results due in April Time now to get in at these levels 29p. IMHO,watch out for a steady rise in trades and price.Reg Evo |
Posted at 23/12/2001 00:01 by johnduffield IMHO: Turnover of £41m for six months down on the previous six months (£76m - 34 = £42m). Costs/expenses up, so-called profit swallowed by interest whilst debts grow to £86m, exceeding turnover. Plus the late reporting, covenant breach, and debateable asset value, depreciating at £30m a year. It looks grim. Not for me. If I start seeing lots of cranes in the spring I'll look for a Baldwins logo, and if the share price has dropped maybe I'll have a speculative punt. But for now I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel. |
Posted at 21/12/2001 11:12 by scov There were problems but it looks to me as if this company has been marked down too far. It managed to generate a prift and net assets are 38m against a mkt cap of 8m. I am not sure of the exact quality of those assets, but it does look like a case of over-selling.Decent managament should bring the price much higher than it stands currently. |
Posted at 17/12/2001 17:12 by pugugly No idea. Rather a worry in view of the previous news. analysis of accounts shows most of nav in 2nd hand cranes. Any idea of the price of a 2nd hand crane today. Must be one hell of a discountto cost if no available work? Also price dropping and high level of sells today. |
