What about when they have to write down the losses when they abandon their tv viewing exploits? Not a chance in hell of BT able to keep throwing money into tV n Sport . sky's firepower increasing with the merger and with Netflix and Amazon Prime growing like crazy . BT are gonna be left behind , people don't want set top box subscriptions !

DikuBT easy target for bears. Take out one off costs of Italy and the fine, pre tax profit would have been around £2.9 billion.Divi up 10%, now saying progressive divi policy. So investors think it won't be 10% rise next year but 5%. Bears don't need to many excuses to hammer the share price.

Okay mutley180, perhaps you’d be good enough to explain to this chimp the greater number of short positions over long here!

Or might that be long crest over short?

why the fuss about dividends?
the divi only comes of the share price, it makes no difference at all.
and capital gains are taxed lighter.
Warren Buffett's Berkshire has never paid one.

Careful Yes it's false economy just looking at dividends. I invested in Sony no dividends but nearly doubled my money.oh and a nice currency boost with the pound crashing.

....at last, been waiting to hear some1 else on this planet say that....applies to all assets, even falling house prices

... your point!

eerrr, the customers eventually leave and tell all their friends who go elsewhere and companies like plusnet etc steal em and they pay less too......LOL (customer care, reputation is everything.....
