Yeh, when has it ever!

Wise up pal, this market is designed for brokers to make the spread, not for you or I to make a shilling.

So 'grim' it's got nothing to do with the underlying performance of the BT Group business??

After the drop of 50 pts, we have now imho had the 20% dead cat bounce. Expecting share price to retest the low and then we may know where the share price is going next. Imho I am expecting it to go down further.

Monty get's it wrong again - from the Guardian on 4th July 2018: "Days after the news of the job cuts, the company revealed Patterson was paid £2.3m last year, including a £1.3m bonus and a 1.5% rise in his basic salary."

GP gave up his bonus, with 13,000 to lose their jobs, he could not take one, would have been bad form.

Diku - my take on your 'exit orderly' comment is as follows. Q1, Q2 and possibly Q3 trading updates are below market expectations, meaning EBITDA is lower than predicted, as well as free cash flow. Then add higher than expected costs for upgrading the network (regulatory pressures etc). Of course the opposite of all that could be reason for Gavin staying. Would really like to hear your thoughts on this and of course your chum Monty.

He is under pressure, when you get some of the top 20 shareholders losing patience.
Someone will be done soon, DT with 12% do seem happy, their guy on the board of BT.
Perhaps they are just waiting for the embargo to end, to make a move on BT.
255p year end with the 10.55p dividend on top that would be ok.

Charles - any thoughts on what the good news could be, as an investor I'm certainly hoping for some. One thing to remember is BT gives it's Q1 trading update on 27 July.

Bears having another go to get below 200p, will they succeed. I don't think so. If they do Gavin I think will have to go, big shareholders want something to happen and losing patients with him.

A lot of buyers waiting for under 200p, but share price won't get there. One positive rns and it will take off with the divi as well.

The question is, can traders risk holding off for a better reduction in price before buyers come trickling back for the divi? Given the ex divi date is mid August I would say possibly. The problem for those on the fence is there could be some good news before that and boom!
