I think most of the public would be prepared to pay for an improved service. But they won't until they get better service for what they already pay for and many don't want to indirectly pay for Premiership rights and other products/services they have no interest in.

So Sky is having problems delivering a service they sell over someone else's network?....mmm if only there was a solution for that instead of complaining to their paid off ofcom!
TBH if the public want faster broadband then they should be prepared to pay more for it. Something is going to have to give and when it does there's only one company ready and prepared to do it. It would be good to have shares in THAT company! Oh wait......

Minerve - my average broadband download speed is 17MB/s which is fine for watching HD & UHD content on Netflix, Amazon and Sky Sports channels etc. Where it is a problem is when I want to watch a UHD movie on Sky, given these are typically 18GB in size they take a considerable amount of time to download, hence superfast broadband would be welcome.

In terms of tariff, all service providers will entice you onto their service with a discounted offer, I have the option to move.

How Disney decide to sell/distribute their product is not a game changer from my perspective as I rarely watch these channels! But I agree the media industry is changing just wish I had a crystal ball to see what the media/telecoms industry will look like in 5-10 years!!

Just for information Netflix are increasing their standard and premium packages by 10%

montyhedge said 7 Oct '17 - 08:00 - 25423 of 25426 - "Ok amateur hour and and half. Always on a Monday morning". Interestingly enough the BT share price was down on Monday (morning) 02 October, but according to the No.1 Trader the share price is always up because amateurs like myself are buying......

The fat controller looks prepared to test a long range missile next week
according to Russian sources, which have described the NK attitude as belligerent.
Markets may be a little more bumpy next week, unless NK pull back from this missile test.

Have to admit being very tempted to buy back a more sizable amount
on today's bounce, however held off until next week, might regret it.

If anyone has a TA view would be interested to hear.

I was lucky and able to give up work early, 23 years was more than enough, loathed most of it.

Can't disagree with that!

On a medium term view this price may look cheap Dr.

Would like to see how the share price reacts on a couple of weaker
days for the UKX.
