Try being a teacher...last three years we've had 1% with a pay freeze for the two previous years. Yes I know you say we get 3 months off but most holidays like half-terms etc are spent working :(

could you supply half a dozen or so examples of Blue chip companies who have issued profit warnings three times over in quick succession.

Hubshank, it was so much Italy, its was the profit warning that accompanies the announcement.Profit warnings have a habit as older traders know of coming along in threes.

Interesting I just read the quickness of BT getting to be the winner after such a short time, said a analyst that interest was muted.Good old BT I think they paid way over the top crazy.

I think the warning of a slowdown was the more worrying than the Italian job, which is hopefully mostly over with.

I do worry about the sports rights. I recently downgraded my sky subscription after the latest increase...just got fed up with them saying it worth it when the reality is both sky/BT are competing in an auction with their customers money. If neither bid so much our subs would be more reasonable. But as a decent income share this makes up a small but significant holding for me.

Ha ha. I more meant does anyone have experience of a share where the price has fallen sharply and then regained the ground when the facts, in this case the "Italian job" have been taken into account.

BT are expected to outperform market expectations which is great. However it is currently trailing by over 45%. If one were to multiply the price by 45% to bring us into line with the FTSE 100 that would give us an share price of £4.82 just by falling back into line. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Time frame maybe? Positive or negative, but polite would be appreciated.

Getting marked down comforts me, since although Monty reckons he's filtered me, I know he's reading. Also, he let slip last week, that I'm one of the amatuer losers...

...where as Monty, ofcourse, is a professional loser.
