The Pension Funds hold the Public's money not the City. They don't mind these big drops as they pound cost average anyway - that's why they don't complain.

No large holdings have changed as with most of these things - It's another Week/Month in the scheme of things.

Only short term traders, employees and big hitters who want volatility will follow this.

Whose money is the City playing with?...

The flaw in your view diku is that what you suggest would be good for the investing public. What is actually done is what is best for the city.

Monty can affect the share price - it does the opposite of what he thinks it will.

Agreed Isis. Imo. This movement looks to be pure fear. Unprecedented in recent times.

No one here can affect the share price - It's just banter and conjecture.

If anyone needs investigating it's the HFT's manipulating shares allday.

Stick with collectives - you can avoid "shock" 20% adverse movements, diversify and get yields up to 6%.

The portfolio at www.maverickmoneyuk.com has some ideas ...

Right before I go off to clean the streets, just checked the 30 year chart, plenty of support at 300p around early to mid 1990's before they took off to 1500p on that crazy peak in 2000 dot com bubble.

All seems good if you take a long term view.
