Be careful 1318myl, the Dow futures have come off quite sharply in the last half hour or so, looks like America could open weak which in turn is dragging the UK down.

Nothing to worry about, just a bit of light profit taking, that’s quite to be expected after the incredible performance of the past 3 months or so. We have to remember that no share goes up in a straight line.

I’d be tempted to top up with a few more if it stays around this 200p level for much longer. I expect to see a bit of support coming in later in the day, especially around 14.30 when the American markets open up.

For those of you that are interested in opening gaps that appear from time to time, it’s a long, long time until we come across the next one. That said, they serve as a nice target, for some time in the future, hopefully later this year.

From my paperwork and old data the next is now two and a half years back at 243.4p on 24th Dec 2018, another xd day. Others, in that same month, are 250.05p and 260.65p

I agree with you 122saj, there are still a lot of unanswered questions about where this 12% stake came from.

Just to put it into perspective, the normal daily trading volume in BT is about 30-35m, or about a third of one percent of the total share float. The volumes haven’t increased significantly (apart from 7th June) so it’s inconceivable that Drahi picked up this stake through daily trading and we now have two 12% holders!

I remain convinced the stake came from Deutsche Telecom in some way, shape or form, maybe they were just loaned or pledged to Drahi, so there was no requirement to announce the ‘sale’ I don’t know?

I was convinced all would have become clear within a day or two, but that was clearly incorrect. Just goes to show, you’re always learning new things in this share dealing game.

Heialex1, that was my original thought , but as there has been no RNS regarding who has sold a large amount of shares, we don't know for sure. He could still have these shares on loan??

Maybe he wants to give them a sweetner...maybe all a PR stunt...who knows...but if this is how one can move the price then it sounds too simple...

If he can buy 12% without moving the price whilst doing it, I guess he can exit the same way. Not a bad return for the amount of effort involved...

It's a valid question.

Why go and talk to the unions if that's his game plan though?
