This is why BT should focus on providing the connectivity and services platform and not get involved in a battle for content.
The one thing they could do is to provide a lovely easy to use customer interface software which comes with the broadband. Then let all the other content providers have their own portals on there which are of a uniform layout, to make it easier for users?

Absolutely none, in fact many consider him to be the best contra indicator! In all fairness he's not too bad at short term moves but number one trader - NO!

Monty. All due respect but what qualifications make you claim to be no. 1 trader on here the past 13 years. Is there some kind of independant performance list here or is it self proclaimed?
And is there really no-one else on this site with more than 20 followers? Just asking regarding your claims. No offence meant.

Ok fair enough, but sometimes people on these sites feel a need to exagerate their entry and exit positions to try and gain some kind of weird kudos with other posters here.
I am not for one second saying that you fall into that category.
I think you are ok, but blowing hot and cold about a shares prospects depending on your position at that point in time can be challenging :)
And I think your 'buy, hope and pray comment is a tad basic, it's all to do with timing, if you time your entry right, then you can let the share do the work.

If so? Lets take the the selling point of your BT shares as the zero start point? What level did you sell at, so I will start my percentages from that point as well? Did you move that money into IAG? If so, what was your buy price? Let us know when you sell? ie you are probably 1-2% up and I am 4-5% down.
It would be interesting to see the outcome, scientific and all that :)

Monty. So I get 10.5p given to me in 3 weeks or so, pick up the cash a bit later.
Then I continue to hold my shares here for the foreseeable future. Which means even in just 13 months I get 26p in divis.
I wait until the share price goes up to also increase my captial.
Maybe you keep a book on all your buys and sells of your original recent investment amount here in BT? Let us know when you buy and sell that section of your investment in other shares.
Then maybe we can compare percentage increases over 1, 2, 3 year time frames?
Fancy it? To prove whether moving money about is better than just leaving it somewhere?

Ham220p ex div they come down to 209.55p then I think bears would get stuck in through the low volume summer period. 192p my target.Laugh if you want but you know I'm no.1 with the most followers on the ADVFN site, lol. Of course only my view.

Apparently the new Minister thought broadband was a new all-girl pop group!
(Only joking)

A poster mentioned this earlier.

Personally I think that the DCMS report could well be delayed because of the new Minister appointed to the DCMS. Hope not but time will tell.

"Unfortunately we know very little about newcomer Jeremy Wright QC MP and he hasn’t been hugely active in the broadband sphere before, aside from speaking a few words of support for the Government’s related ambitions.

Jeremy was a pro-Remain voter in the Brexit referendum and he has a very strong background in law. In keeping with that he has previously held two prominent positions as the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Justice and more recently as the Attorney General. Generally he’s been more focused on matters of law, justice and education than telecoms, so this will be a steep learning curve.

Perhaps his first big task will be to prepare for the forthcoming outcome of the Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review, which will no doubt be a challenge for somebody with limited familiarity of the topic. Suffice to say that such high level changes at this stage of the game aren’t always helpful but we wish Jeremy the best of luck."

Erogenous Zone said - "I will be cutting down the number of lines from 100 to 25...…" have to say that's a bit 'old school'!! That's the type of argument I heard from customers in the late 80's.....!!
