25/6/2007 14:09 | Comparing commission rates between groups are nearly impossible nowadays given the extensive use of incentives, overriding commisions, profit sharing commisions etc, etc. This depends on the insurers appetite for new business, volume of business, loss ratio experience with the broker or network and market conditions. Incentivised commisions are not published and comparing rates on one class of business is meaningless unless you can compare the aggregate of the basket. "BNH dont venture south at all" - I guess the branches in Berkshire, Somerset Herfortshire and network members in the area don't count ;=) I'm still keeping an open mind untill I've seen the prospectus. Having a hard time getting it though as I'm being given the runaround, which doesn't inspire confidence. | geovest
25/6/2007 13:18 | sorry, I mistook what you wrote as in "what are my commission figures to the companies". The commission figures differ on many things: A: what type of risk is being placed: 2: If it is being placed through a preffered insurer. No2 is the winner for COBRA to BNG where brokers are receiving upto an astonishing 21% commission on certain risks. | recruiter
25/6/2007 13:15 | But surely you must know the commission numbers if you say things like: 'I have run the rule over both networks & COBRA do offer better commissions to their members than BNH do. ' I'd be interested for 2 reasons. 1) To see if the BNH figure has changed from when I last looked and 2) To see the actual difference between the two companies. | liarspoker
25/6/2007 13:15 | looking forward to receiving prospectus details as I would like to know why COBRA are valued at £45m when BNH has on a pound for pound level a lower valuation. | recruiter
25/6/2007 13:13 | lol........ just trying to give people here an insight which I have on the cmopanies that others may not. | recruiter
25/6/2007 13:11 | What are your commission figures for both companies Recruiter ? | liarspoker
25/6/2007 13:09 | COBRA management will be far more aggressive than the BNH board is, trust me on that. Geographical differences in the company's aswell. BNH dont venture south at all, COBRA are predominantely southern based but growing their membership nationally. I have run the rule over both networks & COBRA do offer better commissions to their members than BNH do. | recruiter
24/6/2007 20:39 | Mo, BNH M/Cap £59m at share price of 384p Dont have any info on Cobra but think Geovest gave you the info on when Cobra formed in post 1303 "formed Cobra in 2005 they set a target of 125 network members" | giddygoat
24/6/2007 16:30 | Wow, I thought bnh was a unique business model, it will be interesting to see how well they both fair over the next year or so... bnh have the advantage in that they have been listed for nearly 3 years now but cobra been the new kids on the block could steal business from bnh. whats the mkt cap of bnh now?? are there any forecasts for cobra in its maiden year? Also, how long has the business been running?? Many Thanks if anyone could answer these questions. | supreme mo
24/6/2007 11:56 | Any idea what historic/prospective PE a market cap of £45M would be for Cobra? Thanks. | sbbowie
22/6/2007 16:30 | okay, cheers. | recruiter
