Diogenes, its not Hargreaves Hale themselves that bought but rather its the clients of Hargreaves Hale that bought. Because the shares are held in nominee accounts its registered in HH name and therefore they have to report. The same as when I buy through Barclays.

Hargreaves Hale (stockbrokers) have bought a few and now have 7.02%. It's not serious buying, but I suppose it could be significant.

I'd say from today's movement that there's some serious buying going on, kenlum. Could be the bidder picking up stock, perhaps?

DJ - never ever thought it would get to these levels - I needed the money to buy a house and to pay for a wedding anyway!! - thats women for you lol. I can't believe that I bought 36500 shares - 24000 at 61p and the rest between 71 and 75p!

Stegrego, agree about the percentages, certainly with penny shares a 10% bid offer spread is common.

supreme mo - 7p as a percentage of the share price has been reducing all the time -

for instance - 7p at a 200p share price is exactly the same as 14p at a 400p SP

Its the percentage spread and not the value of it that you should look at

The initial approach was obviously a flier and the Board has dealt with it quickly and firmly. 'Go away or show is some real money'.

Can't believe that throughout the last 3 years or so the mms have maitained (at most times) a 7p spread on this stock - and now it is 20p - absolutely ridiculous - they are doing themselves out of business imho.

For those of you that don't know me - I was in these a long time ago and did well out of them.. hope all of you are rewarded.

Gl all.

It coud take anything up to 3 months although I doubt that it will take that long in this case. The company must announce when a deal is concluded or discussions terminated.

I would say so Kenlum, good job to, we are not ready for that sort of thing.

well this is surprising... I thought I had bottled it when I sold just before the bid at 473p... now can buy well under that...

Dan, the purchases and sales are Barclays Stockbroker clients buying and selling, not Barclays. I know because I can see my transactions (all buys) on their announcement a few days ago.

Dan, aree that MM are taking the proverbial on low volume. No matter., I'm more interested in where it will be next year than the next few days.

What has the Barclays issue got to do with BNH?

MM's having fun with this on no volume.

I think Barclays need the cash at the moment as they have just got temporary exemption from section 23A of the Federal Reserve Act in America. Looks like they are trying to take $20B off Barclays capital balance sheet. Four other banks have also been allowed these exemptions. Possibly trying to get toxic debt off the balance sheet. Enron accounting?

Good & bad news about the AGM.

Bad news first.

THERE WERE NO CAKES.

Just bicis; Must have a word with Grant about this.

Good news,
when I asked Grant & the board if they enjoyed working at BNH they all implied they did, with Grant looking very satisfied and happy. I don't think he will sell out at a cheap price, he is enjoying it too much.

Good write up Geo,

Regards, dreggs
